Pictures taken between Monday, February 3 and Sunday, February 9.

Rules: See above

That's it. This isn't a contest.

All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising).

Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize.

The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays.

Post one. Post many. Up to you.

Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others!

Here are my bird selections taken Saturday at my local wetlands:

A 'normal' yellow-rumped warbler:

And now a 'partially leucistic' yellow-rumped warbler (leucism is like a less intense albinism - loss of pigmentation only partial, and not affecting eyes).  This one bird with this pattern confused a lot of birders a few years ago when it showed up - everyone trying to identify the species based on colors and pattern, which of course are corrupted with all the extra white around the head!  But this one unique bird has now returned to the same wetland each winter:

The lovely pine warbler, displaying his yellow color:

A great egret flying low and calling out:

The always colorful and bold roseate spoonbill, showing off his pinks and reds in flight:

And standing in shallow water, a more sedate pose:

Our week on the Liberty of the Seas was a good one. It started with two sea days that did wonders for the erasure of accumulated day-to-day stress. The third day found us on the island of Roatan, Honduras. While not as developed as most Caribbean ports, it has a nice portside shopping center and at least one shiny spot on the excursion list. Roatan Island Brewing Co. is a young venture that is bringing a fizzy-yellow-beer culture into the 21st century with some excellent craft beer brewed in the middle of a Central American island jungle from ingredients like hops imported from exotic Washington State in far off America. Located at the end of a newly paved road and the electrical grid, it was a real winner in the game of excursion roulette.

Man (Dummy) overboard training

While docked in Melbourne last week, the Majestic Princess crew practiced a rescue manoeuvre. First they drove a way off the ship and heaved poor dummy overboard, then returned to the ship. This was followed by a speedy return to the hapless 'floater', picking him up and racing back to the ship, while trying to revive him.

My DH would have loved that place while I went about exploring on my own.

February 3rd our ship, the Epic, was in St. Kitts along with Anthem of the Seas.  Anthem departed before us and as she was leaving port, some folks got one heck of a view.  I may have to book a future cruise on the Anthem of the Seas just for that photographic perspective.
