Off“LIVE” from Harmony of the Seas 2/9/20....and maybe a Perfect Day?

Recommended Posts

Since the cabanas are supposedly assigned by order of booking, I guess these thoughts are moot.... but.....

If you had the opportunity to choose, the preferred location for a floating cabana IMO would be 11, 12,13, 18, 19, 20 .

the cluster of 4 circled in the middle (14,15, 16, 17) have odd angles, and are not particularly private.

I preferred the location of these vs. 1-10, because the interior view is of the masses, vs. a cluster of beach cabanas. Same proximity to beach club pool either way. Also, beach club pool seemed crowded to me. Didn’t spend any time there

also, beach cabana 23 has a strange angle to it, and almost directly faces the beach club seating. Wouldn’t want that one. Got to thinking about this after @bobmacliberty ‘s question.

so, I shall be noting this on my guest survey. Why can’t you choose your

cabana before you book it?  I can choose my hotel room on the

hilton honors app, and choose my seat in the

movie theatre. Both purchases are a fraction of what a cabana costs 🙄 For

the price, you should get to choose, if, based on the location, you want to spend that kind of money.

I would guess the reason you can't book which one you want ahead of time is because they are saving the empty ones for the high rollers in super expensive cabins so this way when they ask their genie if one is available they get one of the ones with the better  locations.

They would hate to hear someone when they get back to the ship say , wow for the money we paid for our cabin and to get one of the worse cabanas on the entire island, what a rip off.

Cabana sound systems had existing audio programming or you could connect personal devises via bluetooth

So when I am at the Beach Club, I should check to see if any of the cabanas are broadcasting Bluetooth and drive them nuts? LOL

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this itinerary 2 sea days upfront, and with the last day being a port day.

but, it was the happiest I can recall ever feeling on A Day 7....with the exception a single back to back cruise

on Brilliance and my elongated Allure cruise courtesy of Hurricane Dorian.

In fact, I’m pretty excited that  I have a similar itinerary on Oasis this November. 2 sea days, St. Kitts, St Thomas and cococay 🤗

This is great to hear! I have disliked port days on the last day but I can see how Coco Cay might make it better than a port day at, say, Nassau.

Thanks for sharing your experience and photos! I have really enjoyed reading along!

Thank you for doing this review, Chris, and for taking the time to answer my questions. I knew that the Beach Club was a ticketed excursion with restricted access. I just thought based on your pictures that it looked really crowded. The beach loungers were all crammed in as close together as they could get them, and almost every one had something on it. Far too crowded looking for me to want to pay extra to go there. Hopefully, I’m just misinterpreting your pictures, and the overall feeling there is more exclusive. Now your cabana, on the other hand, looked wonderful!

Thanks for all this info! We re considering the reverse of this trip in January 2021. Great pics at CocoCay. Makes me want to book a cabana. We will be 8 people. How many allowed per cabana??

8 per cabana in the beach club (shore or over water).

No, you didn’t misinterpret the pictures. 😔The chairs were right on top of each other.

the pool was also pretty crowded. Even if Max occupancy is ~450, inclusive of cabanas, and you take the cabanas out of the equation, there’s 200+ people In a very small area of real estate. I’ve gone to

all inclusive beach clubs like Nachi Cocum in Cozumel, and they do a good job of spacing the loungers so you have a bit of privacy. Not here. Reminded me of the onboard beach pool except it had the missing umbrellas. 😉 If you got a good price on the day pass admission, it might be worth it for the restaurant meal alone. But it is most definitely not worth, $100, and most certainly not $200 a person. Find some friends and split a cabana instead 🤗

there are also day bed type loungers around the pool area, as well as those in pool White wave Chairs, but as you can imagine, they were all occupied by 9:30 am when we got there.

our driver said it’s been moved a few times now. We were concerned about traffic on the way to MCO, but in fact, we made it here by 9. 1 hour 15 minutes from cabin to curbside Check in

Finally went off

San Juan is beautiful city. I took a lot of photos today, and posting will not be in any particular order..... but do take in a walking tour if you have the chance. Senior Frogs is literally right across the street from the entrance to the pier, so you’ll be able to recharge right before boarding the ship 🤪

Good to know where the pier is.  I thought it was right in the downtown area the last time we were there.

Yes, I would be very interested in the Cruise compasses as we have the same itinerary. Thank you for all the info!

I agree that I would like the Cruise Compasses as well.  We are on this itinerary April 19th.  Thanks for this great review.
