Athens transfers

Looking to book the Jade out of Athens for September.  Can anyone tell me the best way to get from Airport to Port? If we book transfer with NCL are we likely to have to wait until a bus fills up before transfer? TIA

Taxi is the best choice.

 

Yes, you may have to wait for the bus to fill...maybe. They schedule transport dependent on the demand at the time. If you are the only people arriving for the ship at that time, they might just put you in a cab, or if a couple of people are arriving, in a van.

I do not know how the transfers with NCL work.

Maybe you have asked on the NCL forum here?

Any taxi or private transfer provider would give you that convenience and you could set the time.

 

I am considering PK Tours, for post-cruise, which is very recommended online.   I think they might offer a tour of Athens along with the transfer to the port,  if you would want to tour and see everything in a limited time before you cruise.

It’s a fair distance, the airport and Piraeus port are on opposite sides of Athens.

The airport is 50km away from the port, so about 1 hour from the port, depending on traffic.

A quick look at Google Maps shows it to be 15-20 minutes.

We stayed here precruise and loved the hotel-hopefully you will have access to the executive lounge-beautiful views from there of the city, sea and the Acropolis/Parthenon. We took public transportation to the port.  We had used the public transportation system for our stay in Athens and found it easy, clean and reliable.  The nearest Metro station to the Hilton is maybe a 10 minute walk. The only issue was that once you get off the metro at the port you either have to find the bus (we never did find it), take a taxi (which we did) or walk a very, very,, very  long way to your ship.  The port is huge and very industrial.  Next time we will definitely stay at the Hilton again, use public transportation for the stay in Athens, but we will  take a taxi directly to the port.
