Price drops due to Corona virus...

So when you check for dropped prices on your booked cruise(s), are you doing it without signing into your RC account? It just seems like they wouldn't show you a lower rate on a cruise they already know you have booked with them??

I enter my C&A number in ever time I check so that I see what the price is after my discount.  They show me prices lower than what I paid.

Got really excited about looking to see if any of my cabins have decreased in price but no such luck for me.  Maybe because we only have Star Class booked for the next 4 cruises.  The only one close was Allure in April 2022 but we got an A1 for the cost of an A2.  I keep hoping we will get a chance to upgrade to an RS but we never get the invitation to send in a bid.  So glad most are getting great discounts from what you originally paid.

I have an X cruise in March, but I was looking for May, June or July for Royal, Celebrity or NCL suites.  Don't see any bargains.😟

Millie has some interesting Northeast cruises in April then some nice Alaska itineraries in May.  Double points on balcony or better if you've sailed with them before.  She came over early so the cruises they just added were pretty reasonable. Verandah through Aqua Class all the same rate.

Our Greek Isle Cruise has actually gone up.  All suites of every size are booked too. So far the Corona virus has not effected this cruise pricing yet

same. We are booked 6-13 on Rhapsody and I have checked frequently since end of January.   Doesn’t seem to be much movement except suites (except for JS) are still gone.

Right now you could book the NCL Jade 42 days Singapore to Dubai to Rome leaving 2/27/20 for less than $1,000 per person inside cabin plus taxes and port fees.  Jade currently loitering near Malaysia, no waiting for others to leave the ship on the 27th, extensive medical insurance is advised.

NCL just cancelled 2/27/20 Jade Singapore to Dubai,  Dubai to Rome available for inside cabin $489 plus port fees.  NCL giving full refund and 25% FCC, which for a last-minute inside would have been about $120pp.

Seeing that Norwegian just pulled Asia cruises thru Summer, I’d expect to see something similar from RCI & Carnival soon.  When that happens, I’d expect cheap fares on the repositioned ships - for Royal should be Voyager, Quantum and Spectrum.

New to cruising.
Who is Millie?  Is she a travel agent offering good discounts?

A couple weeks ago the 2 rooms on Oasis 5/31 dropped over $700 total.
$4600 w/ taxes for 5 people, 2 boardwalk balcony rooms + $235 Costco cards, 2 dinners for 4 @ Chops and 4 soda packs.  Seems alright. Cheers!

Our cruise went down by about $800, but after final payment and we like our room. Freedom in May.

we had our eye on those Freedom sailings, they all seemed to drop in last month.

Honestly I find it totally inappropriate to show off with price drops due to Corona Virus here. If you find one, take it quietly. However this should not be promoted on Cruisecritic as great deals...

I am darn happy with our price drop.

Whether it is or isn’t related to people’s fears of CV, I have no idea.

3 cheers for price drops, hip, hip, hooray!!!

LOL! I think you meant 'northwest' cruises. Saw your post and bee lined over to Celebrity. Haven't seen Millie on this side of the continent in a long while. 😁

I booked Jewel Monday, out of Dubai 9th March. OV £209pp for the week , DP is going to cost more 🙂

That price in the U.S. is now $159 for an OV cabin on that cruise. I was on the Feb. 27th NCL Jade cruise from Singapore to Dubai that was cancelled Wednesday afternoon, so I booked Jewel's March 2nd cruise as a partial substitute for $175.  On reflection, I probably should have booked both the March 2nd & 9th cruises as a B2B.

I of course have no evidence this is due to CV, but I'm going on a 7 day carribean with RCI in May.  When we booked in November the central park balcony we wanted was $3620.16 out the door for double occupancy.  Then when we checked the first week in February, just before final payment, our price had dropped to $2401!!!  We've never cruised before so I have no idea if that's normal, but it about knocked me off my feet.

Wow! that's amazing. Over 1k will pay for service charges and give you plenty left over for drinks or excursions etc.  Good to hear 🙂

Indy Aug 3 price drop of about $150 for two in an interior.

I have that booked, called Casino Royale got the price drop and added the $50 more off offer we recently received in the mail. Also added trip insurance because of the virus so ended up saving about $100.

It is all about the small $ victories (:
