bigrednole Posted February 20, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2020 We have a 3-day run at Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. We are going to West Bay in Roatan. That leaves touring the port at either Cozumel or Costa Maya. Think of this as a port to save money from going on an excursion and to just visit the shops, restaurants around the port, and utilize the drinks and dining we already paid for on the ship. Cozumel: This would be a very easy decision to take an excursion if El Cielo was open. My daughter would love to go snorkeling and seeing the starfish. I know there are tours to other reefs and that would be just as enjoyable. The other benefit is this port stop is from 7AM - 6PM . Even with a snorkel excursion there is plenty of time to visit the port, grab a drink at one of the bars, and back to the ship. Costa Maya: Since we will not be doing any ziplining, Mayan ruins, or anything like that, most of the things are resort day passes or snorkel trips to reefs. This port is only from 8AM - 3PM. Because of the amount of time, debating that this is probably the best port to just visit, enjoy what is around for free, and not venture too far from the ship.

Rare Host Kat Posted February 21, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2020 @bigrednole Howdy and welcome to Cruise Critic! To help you out I have moved your thread to the forum for multi Caribbean ports & itineraries titled Tales from the Caribbean -- Ask A Question / Share Some Info where it will be more on-topic, However it would probably be best for you to browse & research the following Port of Call forums for the ports you mention: Ports of Call - Caribbean - Cozumel Ports of Call - Caribbean - Costa Maya Please remember the following stated in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free memberships: Browse Before You Post Browse a topic first to see if your question has already been asked or answered by someone else. Also, many of the major cruise lines forums have a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) topic that has been created by our members. Give that a try first. Browsing is your #1 best resource! Please post your messages in an appropriate topic so that you'll receive the best possible response. It is very time consuming to move misplaced messages that are in the wrong topics. Anytime you need to start a new thread on a forum, first make sure you are in the correct forum for your topic. Word your new thread title in a way to help the members know exactly the information you seek. This greatly helps the members browsing through the thread titles and if they know the information they will reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, one ship, one port of call, etc. and of course, on the correct forum. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship, port or sail date in your inquiry. It will help the members to have the information they need in order to help you. I sincerely hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
