Driving Time - Pisa to Portovenere

Could be both or even longer, depending on weekday and time. You could easily lose an hour in La Spezia during rush hour. The 1:15 sound sportive even in off-peak times, given you are not used to italian style of driving.

We agree that you will not make that drive in 1:15.  The longest part of the drive is on a decent Autostrade and that time is predictable.   But once you near La Spezia you move onto local roads where traffic can cause substantial delays.  And once past La Spezia you are on slower roads where just getting stuck behind a slow moving car/truck can add lots of time.   I could probably make that drive in about 1:30, but then I am familiar with driving in Italy.  Otherwise I think 1:40 would be closer to the real time.
