Swimming with Turtles....

I am going to a RCI cruise at the end of March. We dock at 2pm and will be in town until Midnight. One of the cruise line tours is swimming with the turtles. Are there any local groups that might be worth looking into or should we stick with the ship excursion? Thanks!

In the Bahamas?  I haven't heard of any turtle excursions in the Bahamas.  Can you post the excursion description?

At that time of day, you should go with the cruise tour.  It's unlikely that any regular tour operator will go out that late.

 

Most afternoon tours leave around 1pm/1:30  so you will miss them.

Sure thing. Here is the write up: Board a boat and take a scenic cruise in the Nassau harbor. You will get a mask, snorkel, fins and vest at no additional cost. You will have a unique opportunity to snorkel with Turtles and a Reef. After your snorkel, you will have an opportunity to briefly enjoy the beach at Green Cay. You will also see Sandy Cay (Gilligan’s Island) from a distance. This is a must do snorkel adventure in Nassau Bahamas. NSP4

Interesting!  I haven't heard of this before.  If you decide to do it, I hope you'll come back and give a review. 

 

I agree with Scubagirrl, with your late port time, you will be better off going through the cruise line.  They probably have special arrangements for a late afternoon trip.
