Rare John&LaLa Posted March 27, 2020 Author #1876 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Day 1 - Embark on a Journey of a lifetime. Obviously boarding day, we wanted to have lunch in suite. No luck Had lunch at Chops, Dinner at Izumi, and watched the Aqua Show. Twice for me. I actually did a Periscope, not sure how it came out.
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 27, 2020 Author #1877 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Day 2 - Make Yourself at Home Breakfast in CK, lunch at Johnny Rockets, dinner at CP150 Jay stopped by dinner to verify we were coming to Mama Mia. Said no, we'd like to go tomorrow. Also went to M&M and started Progressive Trivia Played Cards Against Humanity in Dazzles, then pizza at Sorrento's to close the evening 1
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 27, 2020 Author #1878 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Day 3 - Relax at Sea (yea, right) Pages 5 and 6 aren't scans, they are pictures, so a little harder to read Room service for breakfast (wasn't good), lunch at Chops and dinner was the in room fiasco Saw Mama Mia and the Comics, we missed Love & Marriage 1
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 27, 2020 Author #1879 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Day 4 - Escape From the Ordinary Tried room service for breakfast again, no better lunch at Sabor, Dinner Chops (Pat and I only, this was when Laura wasn't feeling well) We were supposed to do Ice Games, but opted for the Bob Marley tribute in Boleros instead Due to Progressive Trivia, we were unable to do Master Sea Chef. That's a shame, saw it on Serenade and it's a lot of fun 1
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 27, 2020 Author #1880 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Day 5 - Relax at Sea (again) Breakfast at Johnny Rockets, Pinnacle Lunch at Sabor (solo, Laura didn't want to go), Giovanni's for dinner We bailed on the Juggler and missed the 50's and 60's party on the Promenade
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 27, 2020 Author #1881 Share Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) Day 6 - Relax at Sea (remember, no compass for evening activities) Lunch was pizza in the suite, Dinner was at Sabor Went to Top Tier (even brought Pat 😉) We once again bailed on the Headliner, Stephanie Parker. I think she did a Whitney Houston set. This was also the day the 10 drink punchcard showed up Pat and I finished the night in Dazzles with a very large group for Cards Against Humanity And of course 1am pizza at Sorrentos Edited March 27, 2020 by John&LaLa
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 27, 2020 Author #1882 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Day 7 - Ready for a Sea Day, Royal Caribbean Style? Stir fry in CK (dissapointing), Dinner was Chops, again This was the only night Jay did not have a scheduled event for us, so we didn't miss anything Of course, we could have seen Stephanie Parker or Ice Games😉 We did watch the fountain show from our balcony Pat and I spent the evening in the Champagne Bar drinking Martini's and an Old Fashioned. And finished with pizza and the 70's party 1
Bookish Angel Posted March 27, 2020 #1883 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Seeing that picture of Bella has been the highlight of a frustrating work from home day. Plus, no weekends plans besides sanitizing the house ad nauseum. 😩 Thank Buddha for Netflix and books. Pets rule!

Rare John&LaLa Posted March 28, 2020 Author #1887 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Here is my attempt to Periscope before Aqua Show A little view of the main cabin I probably should have done more movies with the gimbel https://www.pscp.tv/w/cU1T4zFkdkVPbm5neUJvalh8MVJER2xRTVpacE9KTGREZVINZ4rUqoe83RanVaix92gLoDbW3KyTE6Tv_Ckt
Rare JamesEM Posted March 28, 2020 #1888 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Thanks for your thread, since returning from the Vision out of PR I have not been out about very much, keeping a low profile. I was doing a b-2-b-2-b and after the first week I was left high and dry (excuse the pun), and thanks to my son and very professional conciser they were able to book a flight back to Mytle Beach the next day. A little explanation, we were off the coast of St.Thomas and I called my son on my flip phone which was still working and told him my plight, then gave the phone to the conciser and they worked together to print off my ticket and a boarding pass.
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 29, 2020 Author #1889 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Day 8 - Relax at Sea (I see a pattern forming) Day of the Birthday Party I think we ate in CK for lunch and didn't go to dinner. We were scheduled for Samba Grill and Barricade Boys (Le Miz tribute) Didn't do either. We also didn't do Battle of the Sexes and Crazy Quest in Studio B
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 29, 2020 Author #1890 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Day 9 - Escape From the Ordinary Lunch at Coastal Kitchen and dinner at Izumi Izumi was all about bad communication that night. Brown rice, missing eggs, more veg. Crazy, and the proteins suffered. We were supposed to go to Dancing with the Stripes Game Show, but once again passed I will add that when we typically bailed on the evening entertainment, we tended to catch something in the Aqua Theater Day 9 it was the fountain show
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 29, 2020 Author #1891 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Day 10 - Escape From the Ordinary (they're just getting lazy now) Lunch was Johnny Rockets and Dinner was Pinnacle dinner in Samba. I may have picked up a souvenir. 😁 They didn't seem to care since they were scrapping the concept in a few more days. No idea, now. This was also filet night in CK, so I got Pat a reservation. We were later told the LA invited Pat to come with us, but he didn't want to. Pat actually hosted a Captains Table with the Chief Engineer of Serenade on last years crossing, and Karen was also the LA on that voyage. It was actually Pat's loss as we sat with @twangster and one of the Engineering staff. Lots of interesting talk. Our evening entertainment was the comics in the Amber Theater. Pat and I went. 1
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 29, 2020 Author #1892 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Day 11 - Welcome to Malaga Pat and I had lunch in Cordoba, Laura found nachos in the Jammer. Dinner was Johnny Rockets Jay had us scheduled for Blue Planet, and I went solo. Pat's alergies were acting up from being in Cordoba and he went to bed.
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 29, 2020 Author #1893 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Day 12 - A Journey of a Lifetime (Deja Vu) Now we are typically jaded and always snicker at the 'Vacation of a lifetime' spiel, but this trip was kind of like that for us since I selected STAR class. And as I have said, it was 'one and done' for us. It just wasn't a good value. It was a lazy last day, packing and the like. It was also complicated by evolving news from Spain. Lunch was Johnny Rockets and dinner was Windjammer. On Laura's actual birthday, no less. I'm still hearing about it. We were supposed to go to Izumi again, but we snacked in the afternoon, and that wasn't happening. Our show was Frankie & the Dreamers. Like I said earlier, it was fun 1
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 29, 2020 Author #1894 Share Posted March 29, 2020 (edited) BTW, we completed our 14 day Self Quarantine today. 👍 All I have left to comment on is the flight home and my overall summary of STAR Class. I'll try and get to that tomorrow. Good night Edited March 29, 2020 by John&LaLa 11
