Hi All!

We booked our airfare for our a Oasis of the Seas cruise sailing from Fort Lauderdale in January 2021. We are flying into Miami and get in about 10:30 pm.

1. Should we stay by airport in Miami and go to the port in the am?

2. Should we head right to Fort Lauderdale and stay at a hotel near the port and take the hotel shuttle to the port in the am?

3. Best way to get from Miami to Fort Lauderdale hotel either Saturday evening late or in the am directly to port

4. Best place to stay in Miami if we stay by airport in Miami?

5. Best place to stay in Fort Lauderdale by port if we decide to drive there night before the cruise?

Thanks in Advance!!!

  1. Arriving that late I would choose a hotel near MIA and make my way to Port Everglades the next morning; hotels in the Blue Lagoon neighborhood (Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, etc.) as well as the MIA Embassy Suites and the La Quinta East are often suggested.
  2.  You could head to the FLL area, as long as you are okay checking into your hotel about 1:00 AM
  3.  Best transportation option is a stretch limo with a stocked bar. 😉  Or you can use UberX (good for 2-3 passengers and normal bags) will be about $35-40
  4.  See above - there is also a hotel inside the MIA airport, cleverly called the Miami Airport Hotel, that is an option
  5.  www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel info.  Uber form FLL area hotels to PE will be about $10-15

Prices in January will be high - book something ASAP and then keep shopping.

Seeing you are getting in so late it does not leave you much time to do anything.

Basically you are looking for a comfortable bed for the night.

I would stay at the Miami Airport Hotel located in the airport. (No waiting on  shuttle required).

I would then leave next morning for the port at FLL around 10:00 am.

Many choices of transportation. Booked Limos, Taxis at the airport, Uber etc.

This.  Just stay at a Blue Lagoon hotel near MIA and head to your cruise in the morning.  It's a relatively short ride to Port Everglades and no need to "get it over with".  Just go in the morning.  I'd look to be picked up at 9:30 am with an arrival to Port Everglades around 10am or shortly after.
