Pictures taken between Monday, March 2 and Sunday, March 8.

Rules: See above

That's it. This isn't a contest.

All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising).

Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize.

The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays.

Post one. Post many. Up to you.

Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others!

Yup. It's that time again. The roar of the crowd, the ping of aluminum striking a hard, leather-wrapped sphere. We went from t-ball to coach-pitch to machine-pitch this year. The little Mangonel baseball catapult managed by a coach does a decent job of mimicking an arcing pitch from a youngster. Once calibrated, it is very consistent in delivering a hittable pitch. And no, they didn’t have neat stuff like that when I was dodging balls thrown by crazed eight-year-olds in my Little League days. The day itself was magnificent. 70° with puffy clouds and periods of warm sun. Almost made watching America’s Game being played in the People’s Republic of California seem less oxymoronic. Family, Baseball and more family cures all.

Monday March 2 was my last day up at Disney World on my 5 day vacation, and I spent it at the Animal Kingdom Park...some of the animals I saw:

The largest vulture in the world - the lappet-faced vulture of Africa:

Malayan tiger, looking like he'd enjoy a nice lunch of...me:

Really close up with a giraffe, who proceeded to taste the safari truck we were riding in:

Lion hanging out on the warm rocks:

Colorful faced mandrill out for a walk:

Hippo showing just how big that mouth really is (taken through wet, inches-thick glass smeared with fingerprints):

Young gorilla, being silly and playful, enjoying chewing on a straw lying on its back with its feet up:

The much more serious and grumpy looking adult male silverback, annoyed with the paparazzi:
