Olden public bus.

We will be visiting Olden in August this year, and I believe there is a local bus that  goes near to the Briksdal glacier.

Where do get on the bus in Olden ?

Also, how close is the stop to the glacier, and how often are buses ?

How long would it take to walk from the glacier back to Olden.

I will be grateful of any information.

Yes, public bus - schedule is here: Stryn Glacier Bus - might still be 2019 but expect same schedule for 2020 - check back later.

You can walk from the stop to the glacier(30 minutes) or take the Troll Cars (reservation required) - more details on the Glacier

 

Distance from Glacier Olden Cruise Port is  23 km - not walkable.

A good tour opportunity is Loen Skylift - cable car to the maintain top.

The bus stop is right at the port.  In the google link below you can see the bus stop sign and behind it the jetty where the ship docks  (assuming you are not tendering).

We used the same local bus as "Hallasm" advised above.

It was just a few mins stroll from the port.

When we arrived at Olden, we booked the Troll cars for later. From the Troll car's stop, you stil have to go a few mins to the Glacier.

Just leave enough time for the trip back, since the line to the bus returning to the port was long....
