It probably depends on when their deliveries arrive too.

Yes, they were stacking some of the shelves whilst I was there.

The fresh vegies and meat are running out everywhere as people are taking more than they need for their weekly shop, so that they can cook extra meals and freeze them.

I started doing that weeks ago. Just one or two dishes a week. I usually do that with stews/casseroles anyway. Why cook two serves when I can cook six/eight/ten serves just as easily, that way I get a break from cooking sometimes. But over the past few weeks we've tried not to use the stuff in the freezer and cook something different instead so we have a better selection in the freezer.

I have an auto immune issue and am on treatment for it. It's an antimalarial. Hydroxychloroquine. Yesterday it was announced by Brit and Aus treatment centres that this drug and another one is proving 100% effective in the Covid patients they had treated. China has ordered hundreds of thousands of doses of a similar drug from India. I'm thinking, that might mean I may not get it?

I also have an auto immune disease & use the same medication you mentioned. This drug is very multi purpose.

As OzKiwiJJ has mentioned, ensure you have contacted your pharmacist to assure you of supplies. I'd hate to go without it now.

Some stores are reducing their hours so that they can restock and clean the stores overnight.

Yep, having a script filled tomorrow. The meds for Rheumatoid Arthritis are NOT the ones I want to run short on.😲

Coles and Woolworths have announced that they will open earlier just for seniors. From memory, it is 7am to 8am for seniors at Woolies.

While Aldi are opening one hour later than usual, went there today for my normal bi weekly shop, waste of time.

As long as I can get fresh fruit and veg from my local greengrocer (yes they are still around) I am happy.

Cheers Carole

The 14 day self isolation requirement also applies to NZ .As of tonight 3 tourists have not complied . 2 have been arrested and placed in enforced quarantine and will be deported in 14 days . The third was escorted to the airport and presumably deported .
Backpackers and tourists renting camper vans or rental cars are finding it very difficult.

Good to see they are following through with appropriate sanctions. Hopefully will discourage others from disregarding the rules.

I am going to paint some furniture I have been meaning to do for one of our guest rooms, our garage to tidy up, our fireplace to finish, I just cleaned out the walk in pantry with things out of date.

One of our spare rooms stores all our travel stuff, so a good time to clean all that up and get ready for the next cruise when all this ends, which it will but we just need to be patient, stay home if you can, stay healthy.

Seems like you will need a holiday after this is all over. You might inspire me to get stuck into doing some more things around the house, especially now that we have been asked to not visit my mother, an almost a daily occurrence, in her aged care facility.

Just wondering  why they are not deporting them straight away. Whose paying for the 14 days enforced isolation? They were breaking the rules.

I would think they would be fined their costs

You cannot extract blood out of a stone Mic.  Only the honest people pay their fines.

True but the others get put away or deported (eventually).

My husband has a friend who on Monday returned from a cruise Dubai to Dubai as well as spending a few days in Dubai post cruise. Since he returned Monday he has been to collect his dog from the kennels, done his grocery shopping and then today has been out to get his liquor supplies.

Why do they not have a hot line to report these people flouting  the rules?  I imagine he is only one of many.

I think there is a hotline. I recall seeing something in the announcement of the self-isolation rule. What state are you in?

On TV they mentioned that there are fines up to $1,300 for non-compliance.

I just remember them avoiding any question  about "dobbing" and just said they expect people to encourage their mates to do the right thing.

Great ethos, eh. But sums up their lackadaisical approach much of the time.

We have found in the past that most people do not dob on friends and family no matter what the crime.

Hopefully may give those of us on it some immunity but don't think I want to put it to the test.

This is true. For me it would depend on the severity of the crime
