Hopefully may give those of us on it some immunity but don't think I want to put it to the test.

Well apparently some of the research is looking at whether people already on the drug may not get Covid at all. I've been on it for 4 years now so have offered myself as a volunteer as long as part of the research doesn't mean I have to be exposed deliberately to the virus.

Trump has just approved it as a recognised treatment for Covid. Not sure if that's good - or not!

I can see many travellers not heeding the direction to self quarantine/self isolate, call me a pessimist if you like, but I always take the worst case scenario in my risk assessments.

Yes. Sadly, more and more these days, one comes across those who believe that laws/rules do not apply to them.

I am by no means justifying people ignoring the quarantine regulations, but I wonder if their thinking goes along the lines of - only some people will be infected and they won't be one of them. But unfortunately, they could be.

Time for drastic action re these people, incarceration - if you can find them. 😮  They have probably gone to ground somewhere.

A couple of days ago I saw an Australian man who was in Singapore. I'm not sure if he had been confirmed with the virus but was required to be in self-isolation. He was getting a text message three times a day with a link he had to activate which would show his location and also could get a knock on the door at any time to check he was home. They at least mean business there.

Interesting, the rule is for self isolation to start once their travel has finished, i.e once at home. I would think it better that they self isolate from their arrival home, as I doubt they have self isolated from Mystery Island.

I agree. There could be an asymptomatic carrier on a ship gradually infecting people during the cruise. Much better to start the 14 days from arrival home. No-one is going anywhere much now anyway.

There was a case in NZ where a Japanese couple driving a camper van called into a store and she was coughing quite badly .Questioned by locals they discovered they had only been in the country for 2 days and had no intention of self isolating as they wanted to see the sights . The Police were called and they were escorted back to the airport ,put on a plane and deported .

Good work by NZPOL.

They have closed  beaches today to stop that.

The Police are going to enforce it, the lifeguards had enough stress yesterday.  Bondi, Clovelly, Coogee, Maroubra closed.  Not down here, down the beach for a stroll this morning at Batehaven which is about 2km long. 1 man and his dog and me.  I forgot about the 1000 seagulls.

The sharks will go hungry due this social isolation business.
