Curious things happening with Pacific Encounter.  After sailing south for a day or so after leaving Korea she then abruptly turned north west and then south again and met up with Pacific Explorer who had apparently come to meet her.
They are now both sailing together for Singapore.  Safety in numbers in the South China Sea ?????

Can't be too careful I suppose.

Maybe they are feeling exposed a little with the way China is punishing us via trade.  They could be regarded as Australian ships and a large passenger ship without passengers is vulnerable I guess.  When Aria and Dawn sailed toward the Suez the Indian navy gave them an escort for part of the way because of pirates.

I think, (correct me if I am wrong)  Radiance of the Seas was going to refurbished NOV of 2020.   I booked her for Christmas of 2021 and now I am worried about her condition.   My favorite class, but hope she is in decent condition.

Radiance is one of my favourite ships, a bit like my old sneakers - aging (like me), getting a bit rough round the edges but still a good fit and so comfortable.

Wonder what they are doing to stop the ships getting musty or mouldy .?

A chief engineer explained early in the COVID 'pause' that the ships had to keep air-con and other machinery operating to prevent expensive problems such as mould in the cabins and, probably also in inaccessible spaces in the infrastructure.

Finally Pacific Encounter/Star Princess has joined the other cruise ships off Singapore.  What a long voyage from Panama.

Pacific Adventure/Golden Princess seems is heading in toward Singapore dock area.

Sapphire Princess is still in dry dock in Singapore where she has been for around a week.

Pacific Explorer has gone back to Manila bay.

You mean the earth move the other day?

I was thinking of downsizing, but then I see the stuff in this house and I put the idea aside. Think I will end my days here. I suppose I could reverse mortgage the house and do a worldie with you mob out there.

You have both been missed on cc.  I hoped it was because of lack of cruising news due to Covid, rather than ill health.

While you where absent (without a note) LOL.

Singapore has been very busy working on ships.

A couple of the Princess ships where rebranded to P&O and they didn’t paint them or tidy them up ,They look a mess.

The Celebrity ships had a new blue paint job.

Ovation is currently on the dry dock getting its 5 year certificate.
