Purdey16 Posted September 21 #62151 Share Posted September 21 Good morning everyone, well it’s sunny here but cloudy and a gentle breeze, husband went for his morning run along the beach and said apart from the Fart club ( that’s his take on them doing yoga or Pilates) on the beach about 50 this morning there was also a fishing competition going on . I feel a little board today and don’t know what to do with myself so I’m just sat watching tv .

I wanted an Automatic and she said she would drive the smaller Clio. I loved driving it today. Very nice Graham! Hopefully still enough room for all your cruise luggage too.

Snow Hill Posted Saturday at 01:27 PM #62156 Share Posted Saturday at 01:27 PM It has been a warm and sunny morning here last lot of post holiday washing washed & dried, I have been doing some deadheading and pruning and clearing moss off top patio in readiness for jet washing when we get another dry spell. Picked some more tomatoes and sweet peppers from greenhouse, pulled a couple of beetroot for boiling. Sky has gone dark, so guess rain is on its way.
davecttr Posted Saturday at 02:55 PM #62157 Share Posted Saturday at 02:55 PM Been a long time since posting, life gets in the way and my next cruise is not until June 2025. I passed my annual prostate review and have a new diabetes injection, once a week instead of daily. How much does it cost? Over £90 for one pen with 4 weekly doses for the NHS, otherwise from about £150 in the UK and in the USA the list price is over $1000. Seeing the consultant next week to plan my hand operations. My bank contacted me today with the proper security protocols. There was a suspicious purchase on my credit card of 21 PENCE by a medical testing company in West Virginia yesterday evening. So the card is now blocked and a new card is being issued. Why 21 pence? and how did whoever did it get my credit card details? I did buy a Duracell charger from Argos online yesterday morning and collected it from the local store.

I suspect that whoever fraudulently took 21pence had acquired your bank details and was doing a test debit from your card before potentially taking much more if the small transaction was successful. Raising it as an issue and replacing your card was the sensible thing to do. Maybe not everybody does and ends up regretting it.

Common tactic by criminals to do a small transaction to see whether unusual activity detected before attempting a larger transaction.

Thunderstorm has passed, torrential rail the gutters around house couldn’t cope with volume of water spilling over top, property over the road it’s down pipe split at joint around 1 metre from the ground with water gushing out. Water in the gutters alongside road overflowed the kerb, feel sorry for those further down the street with cellars. Lots of thunder and lightning, and went quite dark. Looking at lightning app storm now moving north west, still can hear rumbles in the distance.
purplesea Posted Saturday at 03:33 PM #62161 Share Posted Saturday at 03:33 PM After this morning's storm we now have a nice sunny day, a complete contrast from this morning when I had the lights on till after mid-day. It's quite pleasant sitting out in the garden with a cuppa.
Josy1953 Posted Saturday at 04:17 PM #62162 Share Posted Saturday at 04:17 PM I just got home from bowling. The rain managed to stay away until we were on the car but it started thundering about 10 minutes before the last players finished. The drive home was awful with the heavy rain and lightning but at least I dropped friend off and got home without any problems.
indiana123 Posted Saturday at 05:22 PM #62163 Share Posted Saturday at 05:22 PM Nearly all my close family are all on a plane on their way to Rhodes, including 3 month old ggrandson Riley. I started to track the flight but perhaps that wasn't a good idea. They were doing 574 mph last time I looked They are so much fun to go on holiday with, but sadly I couldn't cope with, heat, airports or perhaps being in a large gang. They bought Riley to visit us at 9 am yesterday, I played while OH did a never ending string of bacon rolls and coffee. It was really relaxed and happy.

indiana123 Posted Saturday at 11:38 PM #62166 Share Posted Saturday at 11:38 PM Update on my family's holiday. They were delayed at Gatwick due to a crew member being taken ill and waited for cover. At one point they were directed down a stairwell where they all sat on the stairs! In Rhodes they packed luggage and all the others into a minibus while my daughter and her Husband went to pick up the hire car. En route they had a call from my grandson that people were in the property. My grandson phoned the emergency line and indeed people were in the villa, having gone to the wrong property and were now tucked up in bed. As there were 9 of my lot and this villa was the biggest my grandson, with the Agent on the phone, had to wake them up, Then they had to ask them to leave and wait while the people packed up and left. You couldn't make it up! In my text I said to my daughter that they were probably mortified with embarrassment and to be nice to them. My daughter said they were all very polite and were all falling about laughing when it appeared the lady had drunk the wine in their welcome pack.😀😄 7
Josy1953 Posted Sunday at 05:23 AM #62167 Share Posted Sunday at 05:23 AM I hope that you are all ok this morning after the storms last night. When we went to bed we still had problems with the wi-fi and electricity dropping in and out but everything seems to be back to normal this morning. It is still raining heavily. We are going for lunch at Aston Marina with DH's brother and sister and their spouses so I hope that the weather improves before we have to go out and that the road is clear, the road that we usually use is prone to flooding. Have a good day.

kalos Posted Sunday at 07:43 AM #62170 Share Posted Sunday at 07:43 AM Morning ,hope your all right who have had the bad storms ,most we have had is a light drizzle but expecting more rain this evening . I used to sup gallons of coffee until I took ill in my early 20's and my body decided it was now allergic to the stuff🙁 I had to get used to drinking tea and I ended up going back to the doctors as every time I went to drink it ,I got a sharp pain in my right eye . All is well now since the doc advised my to take the teaspoon outta the mug first 🙃 Hope you all have a good day take care .🙂

purplesea Posted Sunday at 08:48 AM #62174 Share Posted Sunday at 08:48 AM Good Morning, A very wet day here again, with heavy rain and flood warnings in place, but mild at 16c. We had the storms yesterday morning and since having been struck by lightening many years ago, we now unplug any electrical items. Going lunch today, to save on the cooking and washing up. Still need to get the packing done for going away tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

My sister texted last night to say that a house on Saxonfields which is not far from her had been hit by lightening and that her power had gone off.
