Edge headed to Coco Cay?

Recommended Posts

Is Captain Kate taking her crew for some R&R at Coco Cay?  Just a guess, as the Cruise Ship Tracking site shows the Edge is headed that way.

No crew members have been getting off at any ports of call.

CocoCay still belongs to the Bahamas, and the Bahamas is closed to cruise ships.

Ships have been alternating grouping in anchorages off of Fort Lauderdale, CocoCay/Great Stirrup Cay, Great Isaac Cay and Freeport.

Totally closed now? Just a few days ago they were open but with restrictions:

The Bahamas: The Bahamas implemented new border control and quarantine measures for persons travelling from highly infected areas. Given the growing public health concern and to protect the health and well-being of the population of The Bahamas, effective Thursday, March 19, expanded travel restrictions will be introduced. Foreign nationals and foreign individuals who have travelled within the last 20 days from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Europe will be prohibited entry into The Bahamas. This is in addition to restrictions already in place for China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. This restricted travel list of countries will be continuously monitored and updated as necessary.

If you look at MarineTraffic you will see many clusters of ships off ports in Florida and the Bahamas. That appears to be how they are weathering this storm, in offshore anchorages.

Currently off the coast of CoCo Cay, which is that little piece of land on the extreme right.

Grouping on right side is off CoCoCay, grouping farther north is off Freeport. A few are on the move!

Thanks, billions of dollars in assets safely sitting off the Bahama coast.  Noticed Miami's port is full too. Wander why Port Everglades is not being utillized.

I was wondering the same thing. I thought I heard that Miami waved dock fees, I bet PE did not .
