Ft Lauderdale Hotel w/airport and shuttle transfers, pool, & restaurants - HELP

We will be cruising out of Ft Lauderdale. I would like to fly in the day before hand and don't really want to rent a car. Would like to get picked up at the airport and just lay by a pool all day and relax. Have restaurants close by so we can walk and grab something for dinner, and just relax. Can anyone give me any reccomendations? Thanks so much!

If you read down the board, there are dozens of discussions on the topics you ask about. Some common comments:

 

Check out www.sunny.org.  Lists all the hotels in Ft Lauderdale, and includes their amenities, like shuttles. But shuttles shouldn't be a high priority...as taxis and Uber/Lyft are very common and cheap.

 

The 17th St area gets MANY mentions here, as it meets your needs very well. We like Embassy Suites (also frequently recommended here), and it has a pretty nice pool area. It has airport and port shuttles, but they aren't free.

Don't focus on "free" shuttles. Taxis and Uber/Lyft are easy and cheap and the distances are short. $10 or so for the car from FLL to hotels in the downtown/17th street area. Same fare will get you to the port the next day.
