Looks Like SD1 Started Crossing Today

Per the Marine Traffic website, SD1 departed Saint Vincent earlier this afternoon (Thur 26 March) with a stated destination of Lisbon for arrival 9 April.

That's what Bjorne mentioned after disembarkation on the 22nd.  Barbados Port Authority wanted all guests off and they would refuel and receive a container of food.  Officials did not want SD1 docked.

He was then to sit off Saint Vincent until the transit to Lisbon would occur.

Marinetraffic shows SDI underway and out of range.  Float plan was for Lisbon arriving 4/9.  No other plan seen so she is 4 days late for Lisbon.  Any other news out there?

Heard through the grapevine, so to speak, that SD1 was going slower than usual the last few days because there is no room at the inn for another ship in Lisbon.  It may not reach Lisbon until around April 15.  SD2 is coming off quarantine later this week and SD will need to decide what to do with the ship and crew.  Problem is based on what info I’ve found online so far the Lisbon airport is effectively closed so no way to fly the crew home even if SD wanted to do so.  Can’t imagine they resume voyages with paid guests on May 7 as stated on the SD website.

Thanks, that makes sense.  I was wondering if they would both be spending the duration in Lisbon.

Further update - splurged on the 99 cents premium charge for 24 hours to get SD1’s current position.  At 1140 AM EDT she is due north of Funchal going less than 6 kn.

Just noticed both SD I and SD II in Lisbon.  Normally when both get together it is party time.  Good memories.😎
