American Refund/Credit poicy

I purchased these back in Oct of 2019. Here is what the email said,

This trip includes a Web Special award.

Please keep in mind…

You cannot make changes. You can cancel and reinstate your miles, but fees may apply." So while not exactly non refundable they did waive any fees, due to their recent change concerning C-19.

I would not just accept the "advice" of anyone here, including myself.  The situation is fluid and the only accurate information is the specific wording that you will find on each airline's website.  What may have been the policy a week ago may now be woefully out of date.
