1025cruise Posted March 28, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Everyone has their own preferences. Based on the generality of your question, my suggestion would be to discuss with a travel agent who can discuss your options.
PSan Posted March 28, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Thank you for for your quick reply. As I live in France, (South Normandy) travel agents are very few and far between! Could you give me names of efficient and trustworthy UK travel agents I could look up on the Internet? Many thanks, PSan
Ray66 Posted March 28, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2020 It's against Cruise Critic's rules to name travel agents on here. I know that Cunard travel to the West Med and Canary Islands from Southampton. I presume P&O do too.

PSan If you want to mix with more nationalities then I recommend Celebrity Silhouette or RCI Anthem from Southampton. However Canary island cruises can be effected by the weather. I’ve done 2 and both times the itineraries were altered.
John Bull Posted March 29, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Hi, and welcome to CC. P&O, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Fred Olsen, Norwegian, Celebrity, and others. As per Ray's post, we can't name cruise agents. Just google "Cruise agents UK" and yo'll find several. Including one with a very chilly name. Stick to cruise specialists. Not sure whether any of them are answering phones at the moment, but websites are up and running JB
wowzz Posted March 29, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Trying to get through to any TA on the telephone now, as JB says, will necessitate a long wait, so you would need to book online. If you have not cruised before, I would not suggest the online route. There are numerous variables involved when booking a cruise: cabin location, dining preferences, tipping etc, that are best discussed with a knowledgeable TA. You obviously will not be looking at a cruise for this year, so perhaps do some online research now, and then contact a couple of TAs when things have quietened down. dog Posted July 13, 2020 #8 Share Posted July 13, 2020 I sailed Princess from Southampton. May weather was lovely.
Bob++ Posted July 17, 2020 #9 Share Posted July 17, 2020 Celebrity Silhouette would be my choice. A bit above the average and not too big.
Anyislandwilldo Posted February 7, 2021 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2021 May I suggest taking a short cruise to see if you even like it.
matamanoa Posted March 3, 2021 #11 Share Posted March 3, 2021 In Oct. of 2019, we embarked the Sapphire Princess out of Southhamptom on our way to the Canary Islands and had a wonderful cruise. Our weather was great throughout and we didn't miss any port stops. We did mostly private tours and if you need or want names and contact numbers, I can provide those for you. We did some rocking and rolling crossing the Bay of Biscaye but the rest of the cruise was smooth. Barb
