Up to What Dates have FCC/Refunds Been Processed?

We had our March 29, 2020 Norwegian Joy cruise cancelled.  We've really been trying so hard to be patient and let the process happen, but we've now been reading of people with April 5 cruises already having received email notice of their FCC's.

We got the impression that NCL was issuing refunds and FCC's in order of sail date, and a couple of weeks ago, someone reported seeing an FCC email for their Mar 14 cruise.

Okay, we thought, give it some time and they'll be getting to the March 29 cancelled cruises shortly.  Then today, someone talked about

April 5 sailings having received their FCC emails.

Now, we're not so much patient as we are worried!

Does anyone know exactly how the refund/FCC process is working?

And has anyone from a Mar 29 sailing received their FCC yet?

Hope everyone is hanging in there until we can get back to our norm!

Got my letter for Mar 20 sailing on Mar 22 - somebody suggested they are possibly going alphabetically - or I suppose it could be by Lattitudes #.

Look in your NCL account - if your FCC is there, then maybe your letter went to spam?

Robkat, who did you book through?

My April 5th Encore was booked through CAS (Casinos at Sea) and we are still waiting for the FCC email.  Others on my roll-call reported receiving theirs on March 19th.....11 days ago!

Sand and Sea:

we didn't book through CAS, but with a travel agent.  We called him late this afternoon and asked him if he could find out anything from NCL.

They denied that they had dealt with any April cruises yet, but I noticed that my TA asked about "refunds", not about FCC's, which is what I asked about! 🙄🙄

After reading your email from earlier today, I saw that they are obviously full of it ... or, at  least that particular CUstomer Service Rep didn't know what was going on!

julig22:  LOL ... yes, we've been checking our account in NCL daily.  But, from what we've been reading overwhelmingly on this forum, people are receiving emails from NCL, notifying them that they're FCC's have been processed.

I wish we all knew what system NCL is using , as it's obvious that people would love to know when to expect to see confirmations of their FCCs or refunds.

We're going to go back to waiting patiently now ... at least for a little while more.

Who knows.  We had a sailing with refunds when only one ship involved.  Some got refunds fairly quickly.  Others up to 16 weeks.  This was few years back.

Hi dexddd 🙂

If it's the sailing I was on, I remember it well, I think I was one of the last to receive mine.😒 Although it was for claims due to delayed sailing. Fun cruise though! 😎

Cruise was scheduled for March 15.  Cancelled water package, dining package and thermal suite passes on March 9.  Received refunds for water package and dining passes March 16.  Received refund for thermal suite passes today (April 2).  Cruise was cancelled March 15 under Peace of Mind March 13.  FCC email received March 19. Cruise next certificates were in account March 19 and FCC was in account around March 24.

Wow ... my theory that NCL staff are working on a chronological basis seems like it  should be tossed out the window!

i can't believe how quickly and efficiently some of you were processed, while others (us included) are still waiting.

Now,  I'm wondering whether if you booked directly, and subsequently dealt with NCL directly for your cancellation, if that speeded things up in getting FCCs and refunds processed.

I see that some people booked through CAS, and some have used travel agencies, and maybe those 3rd party cancellations aren't being processed as efficiently?

At this point, who knows?  I'm not a patient person at the best of times (which DH can attest to!) and right now, I'm pretty anxious to see something from NCL, with fingers crossed that we'll see the correct amounts. 🤞

Sorry to again say that theory also does not hold true, at least in my case.  Booked February 28 cruise directly with NCL.  The cruise was cancelled while in the midst of our itinerary, so not a situation involving any future sail date.

And have received no communication from NCL Corporate concerning the refund or 150% FCC.  When I contacted NCL toll free, was advised to open a Guest Relations query.  Remains to be seen what is the turnaround for their response (beyond the assignment of a case number.)

Logan25:  your first post hadn't mentioned that you'd booked directly.

But in any case, whatever "system" or "process" they're using, im sure there are exceptions galore.

By virtue of all the posts and reports I've read here, the processing of  FCC's and refunds  seems to be all over the place.

Thats why I was asking for people to post dates of when they cancelled and how long the process took, to see if there was a pattern.  There wasn't, at least not that I could see.

So, subsequently,  I was just wondering if  direct booking or through another agency might be a factor.  Again, it appears that the processing is happening without rhyme or reason.  But however they're doing it, again, I'm sure there are multitudes of exceptions.

As I said, it sure would have made me, and I'm sure lots of others, feel better if we knew what the process or system is, which would then give those of us still waiting, some expectation of when our particular case would be handled.

Don't feel bad.  Passengers on Norwegian Jewel were told they would be receiving refund or FCCs for Feb. 28 cruise (which ended in Honolulu last week) and still nothing in my NCL account and no email.

Same for us (we were also on the Jewel).  Also nothing for the cancelled Mar 20 back to back cruise.  We booked direct.

No big deal, as prices are too high for a similar cruise next year, even with many discounts, we'll not make any future plans or bookings yet.  Things are too likely to change.

I spoke to NCL UK earlier and was told that a large batch of FCC would be released tomorrow. According to her supervisor, it would include all the cruises that have been cancelled so far.

Just FYI: I booked directly with NCL and was due to sail on the Jade on April 9th

Cheers... really hope the best for all.

For the 20th March I got the refund request confirmation, just waiting for them to remove the FCC from my account and process the refund instead. The refund for the 28th Feb is just absurd. It started with my TA's NCL contact didn't know anything about that offer, my last information is now that my TA is waiting since days for NCL "We are waiting for the cruise line to send us the correct link for sailings in February. "

Worse is that I got a £325.92 refund to my credit card for the 28th sailing without any explanation and one of my cruisenext deposits went from £202 to £152. It is just a mess and I can't believe how one company with millions of customers each year can be so unorganised.

My FCC is in my account now. The 2 cruise next vouchers that I used to pay the deposit aren’t there yet, though.

I see the same in my account for three cruises, 100% + 25% FCCs but no original CruiseNext redeemed when booking.  And nothing for February 28 cruise.

My FCC is in my account now, but not the Cruise Next.  I also had a cruise cancelled in the March 14-April 11 batch and it was just the opposite - CN certificates before the FCC.

Hi Freckles!  Yes, it was that one.  We too had a great time.

Was supposed to be on a MSC cruise last week but we know what happened there.  Hope all is going well for your family.
