Thinking of all the Marella crew members

I think we should all give a thought o all the crew and there families, many of whom  we have met year over many years. They are either on board currently or have been placed on hold at home as they cannot take up there contracts. I'm sure we all wish both them and there families the very best and keep safe and hopefully we will all meet up at some point in the near future safe and well.

 

Whilst I know Marella have many challenges currently, I hope they are also thinking of the staff. Who whilst on board work so hard to make our cruise special. 

 

Been reported on LinkedIn that  viking are doing the following

1. Crew at home awaiting to join the Viking ships will receive 50% of there monthly salary

2. Hotel crew who are on board the Viking ships will receive 60% of their monthly salary and every second day off.

3. Deck and technical crew on board will continue to work as usual and will receive 100 % of there monthly salary.

Heard today that some crew have managed to get back to Manila from Celebration and are being isolated in a hotel for 2 weeks which is being paid for by their Agents

So we should wish them well and hope they will be safely back with their families soon.
