Some ships use to have the connoisseur club for cigar smokers but they are being removed when the ship is AMPED. 👍  If you quit smoking you'll have even more money to spend in the casino and you'll be healthier.

When a ship goes in for refurbishing they should include a designated but nice outdoor smoking section with a bar attached to it.  Tables outside where you can be outside smoking away.  Your section of the entire ship.  Again, design it in a way to attract the smokers there.  

Ships already have outdoor smoking areas with a bar. With tables. Or close to a bar.

What about those that spend $20k or more on a suite for that one sailing, shouldn't they be able to gamble in a smoke free casino if they want?  Silly argument isn't it.  Money doesn't buy you everything.

 

While smoking is allowed go for it, just be prepared for the day it no longer is.  Whether that makes cruising no longer an option for you, whether you need to go elsewhere and "gasp" give up your machine for a smoke, or give up smoking while gambling is your choice so start deciding.  Sorry if blunt but when someone sticks to their argument with as much vigor as you have in this thread, for 4 or 5 cigarettes a night,  it's the only way to get through, give it up already.

He is doing great.  He was part of a case study  one of first in study of 10 patients in the US.  That now led to several thousands of lives being saved.  

 At home I dont smoke near him as I only smoke maybe 2 cigarettes a day at home.  My morning one and my after dinner one and he is usually in his man cave then.

 

He does go to casino on ships on a regular basis.

Of course. Royal allows it. For those that want a ship with a non-smoking casino, there is always Celebrity cruise line.

We have a choice...we choose to stay away from smokers.

We don't bother them, they don't bother me.

 

When someone starts smoking next to me...and I can't move...I will politely ask for them to stop.

Being respectful works for me.

Actually, Royal has them too. All sailings out of the UK and Australia are non smoking Casinos. Only a matter of time for the US Ports to do the same. 
 

The Casino is used as an indoor smoking room. I see a bunch of people smoking and NOT playing.

Yeah, that's annoying when I have to ask someone to move so I can play a machine. Its not so bad when its just one person but can be awkward when I want to play a machine in the middle of the group. 

 

Everyone is usually polite and sometimes apologetic.  As a previous poster said, its all about respect.

I don't need to speculate, I can tell you. On a UK or EU sailing, I spend about an hour or two every evening while my partner gets ready for the evening, and the same towards the end of the night. On a 7 nighter I'll usually have either one or two 'big nights' there.

 

On a US sailing, I don't even enter. I'm a big fan of the USA but the American attitude to smoking is sadly lagging behind most of the world these days.

I'd wager there are more people avoiding it due to the smoke than smokers avoiding it because they have to step outside when they want to smoke. 

At that point smokers like myself had no interest in the property, so yes it went under and that was the main reason. Since the takeover and before the Covid crisis the new property allowed smoking and was finally turning a profit.

So in answer to your question.......YES allowing smoking made all the difference in the world.

To get the general public on cruise ships going forward the cruise lines will need to convince the public that cruise ships are super clean and sanitary. Exhaled smoke won’t fit into a clean, sanitary and healthy image. So it would not be surprising if smoking in the casino is not allowed.

 

It may not even be allowed at all....

So they only cater to smokers?  They see a smoker and know they are going to spend their money?  What about smokers that use the Casino as a smoking lounge and NEVER play. We see them in the Casino even when it is closed. All the more reason to ban smoking indoors.

If you only smoke 2 cigarettes a day it should be very easy for you to stop which would be the best thing you could do for your health.

It is so nice to sail on Celebrity ships.  They do not have the horrible smell of smoke and people smelling from smoke.  In addition to all of the health benefits, smoking should be limited to a small outside area of the ship.  Even when you pass this small area on Celebrity- you have to hold your nose and walk very quickly.  We of course, try to avoid it!

The few cigarettes I have are the ones I truly enjoy.  Sure I could quit pretty easy but I have no desire to.  Even my doctor says she cannot argue with that.  In recent physicals I was told my lungs look great, very healthy.  Both my parents smoked as well as both my grandparents and they lived to 103 and 101.   Unfortunately I lost my father to prostate cancer in his late 80's.  Otherwise my family has a very long lifeline and I'm not worried about living to a 100.  I want to enjoy what I enjoy as long as I can.

I'm in disbelief that people would make poor choices by smoking in this modern time when we all know it's bad for health (and everyone else around them). Not only that, it stinks up clothing, hair.....yuck.
