Tarrian Posted May 1, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) I got this tour starting tomorrow so I can't be up too late. As I'm on the Edge there are four MDRs. Maybe I'll go to the Tuscan for 6.30. A nice glass of sweet sherry before. Then their tasty bean soup, some veal maybe or perhaps a pasta. Desert has got to be tiramasu. All washed down with chianti. After that I'll get another glass of red wine and head up to deck 12 to watch the sunset. It might be a bit cold but I could go back to the cabin first and put on a sweater. I do like an orange /red sunset as it sinks into the sea. Maybe I'm a bit peckish so down to Cafe al Baccio for cake and some more wine. Do a mooch through decks 4 to 6. Possibly a few goes at the slots. If there's a good guitar player I might listen to him /her. Now its 9pm and I got to think about the tour. Really looking forward to it so maybe I should call it a night. Perhaps a glass of port before I go back to the cabin. Why not? I'm on holiday. What will you do tonight? ECCruise Posted May 1, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2020 I know what you are saying, but honestly, I will be happily at home, thanking my lucky stars I am not stuck on a cruise ship. Maybe this time next year I'll join you?
Ontario Cruiser Posted May 1, 2020 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2020 I will be thinking about our Infinity crossing as I drink my Bloody Cesear and watch an old movie on TV. Can't sit outside too cold here in Peterborough Ontario. Hoping that we can do a fall crossing. Stay safe everyone OntarioCruiser

I'll read or sit or sip and just chill. - Joel
Carole2313 Posted May 1, 2020 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2020 Well, I know where we were supposed to be, at sea after crossing the International Dateline on our way to French Polynesia. Where we will be tonight is on our back deck in the sun BBQing a nice rack of ribs. Beautiful warm day here in the midwest.
Roger88 Posted May 1, 2020 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2020 I am so jealous of you my friend. You are truly living a life. Porto before sleep, I wish could have a glass of it right now. This is what makes any vacation special - moments like this. I still remember my cucumber cocktail the first night on board of Princess. My wife near me and kids.. who stayed at home with her mother. Alone at sea with margarita and some nice ocean view. Pleasant times
Pinboy Posted May 1, 2020 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2020 I think I'll lay back on my " easy chair " and reminisce about all the great cruises ( 50 +) we enjoyed over the years , the truly exceptional staff members that served us, the several friends we met and still have contact with , and all the fantastic meals onboard --outstanding in the Specialty Restaurants. I hope it won't be too long before we are over this pandemic and can enjoy cruising again.

Well its morning for us now... so (having had the sense to put my breakfast card out last night before I read the post...) I'm going to get up late - I don't have a tour, its a sea day. And I'm going to have breakfast on my balcony. Served by..ohh...choose favourite Bulter.. Ceasar who always has such a lovely smile. I'm going to sip champagne. Maybe browse the "Today" sheet and decide that actually I want to read a book on my balcony. The Porch for lunch (I'm on Silhouette). Blackfish Tacos, seafood tower, Paella. Black coffe with sugar and a sambuca on the side. Little nap in the afternoon before dressing for a formal night. Quick switch in Bulters to the fantastic Nadia who would drop in in case I needed help pinning up my long hair. A show - Euphoria I think. Dinner in Luminae...Brasied Octopus to start - I love that. Too many mains to choose from... perhaps a scallops from the starter menu as well. DH will finish with that chocolate surprise thing they pour the hot brandy on. I'll persuade the waiter to pop over to Murano and knab a plate of cheese.... Sit in the sunset bar sipping Brandy and watching the sun go down.... We will be there again. Next sailing July 4th (might not hold..) October 9th (possibly a better bet) Decemeber 24th, May 2021 something - we have to be back by then! And August something 2021... Thanks OP. Great dreaming!
evandbob Posted May 2, 2020 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) The OP is going to retire at 9PM? YIKES!!! We would still be at dinner then, the night is young! (or is this the Holland America board?) Edited May 2, 2020 by evandbob 1

Looking over the Irish Sea,sad our June cruises are not going to be sailing but counting our blessings we have a lovely place to live.Missing the family and friends and think we will all realise how fortunate we have been. Hopefully will be back on board soon as it’s safe to do so! All stay safe shipmates❤️
the_dylaness Posted May 3, 2020 #13 Share Posted May 3, 2020 Hmm, well, it's already 830 here... So I assume that my kids have already had dinner at the buffet and headed out to the kids club. We probably just finished a cocktail and are getting something to eat at Sushi on Five. Then we'll go see the house band in the S-class atrium, get a martini and dance. Get our kids around 10 and everyone crashes...
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted May 3, 2020 #14 Share Posted May 3, 2020 I'm sailing away from San Juan on the second leg of a great B2B2B. I wish.
Richard&JohnSTX Posted May 3, 2020 #15 Share Posted May 3, 2020 We are in London looking forward to boarding Apex in the morning for a Norway cruise. We wish. But a nice Caprese salad followed by a teriyaki sirloin and fresh from the farm bicolor corn on the cob was great. Just wish I didn't have to cook and serve it myself! And lets not even talk about having to do laundry in the morning - I would gladly take that stingy Elite perk of pack all you can get in the small paper bag about now!
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted May 3, 2020 #16 Share Posted May 3, 2020 (edited) As it's the end of a relaxing sea day, we are clearing up our towels from our solarium loungers and hitting the pool bar for a cocktail to take with us back to our room. DH will sit on the balcony while I shower and then we'll chat about what to wear to dinner tonight. We've already passed by all the restaurants earlier today to check out the offerings and DH is excited about the grilled branzino in Luminae, so I guess we'll go there tonight. We'll hit the World Class Bar before our 8:30 dinner time and strike up a casual conversation with fellow cruisers. Just before we depart, DH will pull me into the luxury watch displays so we can oohh and ahhh over all that sparkles. After recovering from a little sticker shock, we'll pass through the atrium for some dancing and then make our way to dinner. We'll finish the night with a round in the casino followed by a night cap on the balcony. We'll gaze at the moon and the white caps in the ocean and talk about how grateful we are to be cruising. We'll head to bed so we can do it all over again tomorrow.... But the reality is, tonight, we'll sit on the porch with a glass of wine and listen to the tree frogs while we reminisce... and enjoy that just the same. We will sail again! Great post --- To enjoy a little laugh about the " luxury watch " display --- Did you notice the Rolex watch display in the front of the store has a little sign that reads " Previously Enjoyed " ? Sure sounds better than '' Used ". LOL---Why buy a " Previously Enjoyed " Rolex on the ship for $6000 when they sell '' Authentic ??? " ones on every island for $125 ? So what if Rolex is spelled wrong and your wrist turns black when you take it off ???
downsmead Posted May 3, 2020 #18 Share Posted May 3, 2020 We were due to sail on the 21st April (Equinox, New Orleans) and have had the most amazing roll call over the period of the cruise detailing what people ‘had’ been doing on the cruise, and also in reality. We had a virtual sail away, with everyone posting around the time of sailing, a ‘cheers’ plus the obligatory Mardi Gras beads so that we could recognise each other at the ‘Sunset Bar’.
Rare DENIE Posted May 10, 2020 #19 Share Posted May 10, 2020 Reflecting on a previous cruise on the Silhouette.....we will be preparing for a wonderful dining experience in Murano, where I plan to have the Chateaubriand (for 1), and my wife the lobster prepared table side. After a stroll around the deck, we will most likely end up in our favorite lounge, the Ensemble Lounge. Love their duo entertainment groups (acoustic guitar/singer, etc.). As we retire, we will think about our reservation at the Lawn Club Grill the next evening. A perfectly grilled filet mignon (me) and lamb chops (my wife) await! Thanks for this fun post!!! 🙂
