Carnival Elation

Recommended Posts

A lot of people love it because it’s a smaller ship. We have only been on her once and that was enough for me (and the rest of our usual cruising group). Being a bit older than your picture looks like you are, we always book balcony rooms for comfort because we tend to spend a good bit of time in the room.  When they first added the additional balcony rooms a year or so ago, we all booked the 5 day Bahamas from Jacksonville. The ship was nice, crew was nice, food was good, casino was friendly. However, the balcony room was a total disappointment! We had 5 cabins together, not the first one had neither a sofa or chair! Never had a balcony room without sofa, let alone a chair! We ended up bringing a chair in from the balcony just so DH had a place to sit. I’m too darn old to sit on a bed to watch tv or whatever. So if you’re planning to book a balcony room, just be aware. I think they do have a straight back chair in the rooms now. We’re going to try Ecstacy when she came to Jax, but same setup.

other than that, I’m sure you will enjoy it. If you’re going to sail from port canaveral, I prefer Liberty. Much nicer, and still a good size. Crew is awesome. Been on her 7 times!

Been on it twice recently.  Smaller ship excellent for those not interested in water slides and loud crowds.

Older crowd, no big Broadway shows, but good buffet and restaurants.

The boat is clean.

Just booked the Elation for July 16, 4 night, OV mid ship $162.00 Now that is a great price. $40.50 pp pd. Plus I get $50 OBC stock credit. If you like a bigger ship. Yes the breeze would be it. Not sure what you mean by a "much better ship" Would that not depend on choice. Personally we like older smaller ships. However, the Royal Harmony totally the opposite was an awesome ship. The entertainment was top notch. So was the food. By the way. Depending on the ship, a balcony stateroom itself can actually be smaller than an Ocean View. The balcony room is the same size as the Ocean View INCLUDING the balcony on some ships. However the Elation has the smaller state rooms, smaller ship. 180 sq ft for both vs 220 sq ft. for larger ships which then have room for the couch.
