Cruise with confidence enhanced

Sadly I’m not seeing how this works out for UK guests. There are very few sailings that match up, due to the fact we only have one ship here, and there simply isn’t the choice.

It is the exact itinerary length that gets us... a Canaries Cruise is 10n this October, and 11n next October.  The only other Canaries cruise is 14n this Sept v 12n next July so that doesn’t fit in with the 4 week rule either.

I wonder if they will allow an 10n from Southampton to be swapped to a 10n from Barcelona?

You can transfer Barcelona departures

Moan alert. Apologies in advance. I'm just feeling sorry for myself - feel free to ignore 😁

Lots to choose from for those booked on the regular 7 nighters in the Caribbean & Med but not so good for 12 nights from Northern Europe. There is very little choice here because they don't run a regular schedule. I'm looking at totally different itineraries and all variable lengths.  This makes the same number of days sailing rule very restrictive and I can't find anything to match my Iceland cruise in August 2020.

There is literally just one I could pick for 2021 but it is inferior, different ports and not an itinerary I would choose to spend big money on. And the absolute reason that drew me to this cruise in the first place, my corner aft balcony on my favourite ship is not available ☹️ if I'm going on a very expensive once in a lifetime cruise, it has to be perfect - and the alternative most definitely is not.

I will call them when they know what they are doing or when I know what I want them to do - as my final payment isn't till June 13 so I will play the waiting game a bit longer.

I'm definitely not cancelling anything before June 12.  And after that I may well have to cancel because at the moment I don't feel safe paying another £600 deposit for another cruise.

Moan over 😁

moan away !

i'm moaning too - supposed to be going on 11th July booked for the family over two years ago. Last cruise was Allure in 2015. nothing for next year that we can switch to.

I know its only small compared to what others are going through - just we were so looking forward to it, and we need it now more than ever.

Here's my moan faces ☹️😟😤😣

Hi, I've been told I cannot change my August Explorer med cruise to Odyssey med cruise as they cover different parts of the med and it would have to be a Harmony cruise. They have also said I would need to pay extra taxes as they are are higher on the harmony than the explorer, is this correct?

That doesn't sound right to me. Surely the med is the med. I would call back and speak to someone else.

The Med is the Med.... there is no stipulation about ports

The Best Price Guarantee is also appearing on the UK website which in theory should give guests who book under in the UK access to repricing as has always been the case in the US. Has anyone tried and been successful with this?

I have asked my travel agent to have a go at this for me as the junior suite on Allure we booked 2 weeks ago for next year is now £300 cheaper with the new UK promotion which started Tuesday (albeit without the OBC , but we would still be up on the deal).

If this is the case it is a major step forward for those of us in the UK.

Ports don’t matter.  As longs as it’s Caribbean.

I've spoken to two different Rc advisors now and have been told you cannot swap a western med for an eastern med cruise so I'm assuming that's the same for the caribbean 😞

There have been several reports of people switching Eastern and Western Caribbean.  What they haven’t been able to do is switch to or from a Southern.

I have the Presidents cruise Med booked on the Allure in the new ultimate panoramic room that was to be built. Which may not be getting built.  I inquired about switching it to the Harmony next year med and was told “we cannot switch you to the equivalent cabin and wanted to down grade me to a loft  non star suite. Was I okay with that option”

Just heard from my interline agent. The L&S and price guarentee is not applicable to interline rates 😡.  I can still canx and get FCC but price is more next year. That will mean two lots of FCC to use.

Annoying as travel staff and airline staff are going to be one of the groups hardest hit by the fall out of this pandemic.

Ourusualbeach is correct.  I was able to switch western to eastern but have not heard anyone switching southern.

RCI ... want as many people as possible to move their cruises so that refunds are no longer an option.

Folk aren't forced to move if they want to wait and get a refund. Worked great for me as had NRD and wasn't going to do final payment so best was FCC... now I've moved that NRD to a cruise next Sep that I have a chance of being able to take. And kept my great price and corner JS.

When I said RCI wanted people to move their cruises so refunds were no longer an option - I meant move them before they were cancelled this year. It's a brilliant move on the part of RCI, but I hope they are still in business next year to operate all these cruises.

We'll do a little of everything. I will cancel an October cruise with a refundable deposit, wait for the November cruise with a nonrefundable deposit to be cancelled by RCI, and do a Lift and Shift for a September Canada cruise to the same cruise a year later.

Does anyone know if you have a cruise booked for bermuda and used a $500 off casino certificate if I can use the L&S program.  With casino cruises full payment is due when booked.  So all in I paid about $1600.  Can I switch this to next year and still have benefit of the casino certificate discount?

On the phone now trying to change a fall 2020 TA to fall 2021 TA.  Same number of days, same departure and arrival ports, but different port stops in between.  Agent says itinerary must be the same.  On hold, waiting for confirmation of that.  Most of the time the TA's go to different ports each year!

Yep, I understood what you meant... I meant folk can wait to see if their cruises get cancelled and then get a refund if they want if they'd paid in full. As my brother waited for his August HAL cruise that he can not get a refund for as of yesterday.

But the way cancellations are rolling out, it will require final payment.

Requiring port stops to be the same would be ridiculous. I hope that is not the case. Let us know what happens.

I actually was successful changing my August Explorer 2020 cruise to Odyssey August 2021 cruise. It was the same itinerary with the exception of one port though. Anyway, we had no issues.
