Once a sailing is cancelled, pretty sure the L&S option is gone.

Royal has not stated what the options will be for the next round of cancellations. I’m hoping they have three.

We currently have booked Nov 22, 2020 cruise on the Oasis  Western Caribbean plus perfect day out of Ft. Lauderdale.  We want to L&S it to Nov 2021. In order to do the same Western Caribbean itinerary on the same week (Thanksgiving week), we would have to select the Symphony out of MIAMI. Will they deny it because it departs from Miami instead of Ft. Lauderdale?

That is awesome. We booked through a travel agent so they are going to call to get it done. It would be an amazing switch. The fare for the Symphony cruise is almost double what the fare for the Oasis cruise, so price protection is key. I hope we can get the switch done!

It is allowed for groups.

At this time, named and deposited Group and Individual reservations confirmed on-or-before August 1, 2020 qualify for the same “Cruise with Confidence” guidelines. Contracted group eligibility may vary, and, at this time, chartered sailings do not apply.

Ken.....do you think it would work for free casino offers? 😉 In other words, we have two free cruises given to us where we paid to upgrade to a better cabin. One in the end of August and one in the end of Nov. Think they would allow L&S to next year? (Note: I'm pretty sure nada, but thought I would check. I do have $$ involved)

Unfortunately they are excluded.

When opting for the Future Cruise Credit, all rate codes apply, with no restrictions. Select restricted rates are ineligible for Lift & Shift and Best Price Guarantee - including but not limited to Net rates,
 Casino rates, Travel Agent Friends & Family rates, Travel Agent Reduced rates, and complimentary staterooms.

Nope.  No transferring casino cruises.  I spoke with club royal yesterday as I have a fall cruise to bermuda that I used a $500 off casino certificate and was told no the certificates for money off or comped cruises that were from a certificate earned in casino or promotion are not transferrable.  Only the free annual cruise is transferrable for prime and up members.

We are both prime too.  Have not yet picked our annual freebie.  We do have three other casino cruise offers booked.  Just a wait and see pattern for all of us.

Given there are only 3 Southampton itineraries next year which match up to this year, L&S is not very useful for the Brits!!!

Sorry, I was only referring to FLL to MIA.  There are going to be situations where the L&S is not possible and unfortunately I thing Southampton is one of those

 

The departure port is not really a criteria, it is the length and itinerary and 4 week window.

Yesterday I switched our Oct. 2020 cruise out of Cape Liberty to an Oct. 2021 cruise.  Same ports and itinerary.  I waited on hold for 1 1/2 hours and then another 1/2 hour to be completed by a supervisor.  All was taken care of.  i have not received an email confirming and it does not show up on Royals site either.  When I check the 2021 cruise our cabin is still listed as available.  Do you think I need to call again?

call 1 866 562 7625  press option 4.  Automated system to get a new booking invoice that should have the new cruise listed on it.  If its still the old cruise then call

I don't think we know if the CWC program will still be available by then.  Most advice about Nov. 21 is entirely speculative.

Thanks.  I called yesterday and was able to L&S my 9/20 Canada/NE Adventure sailing from Cape Liberty to 9/21 Canada/NE Freedom sailing from Cape Liberty.  I was not able to use the March casino offer of $600 off the price I had with the original booking so they added that to the price.  Still I was able to get the same J3 junior suite category for over $2,000 less than the 9/21 price.

 

I was not able to use L&S for one of my casino freebies where I had paid a little to upgrade, so I'll wait and if they cancel get my refund.

 

Don't know if I set a record or not, but dang I was on hold for three hours, ten minutes to accomplish this. 😲

I haven’t read through all 25 pages of this thread so don’t know if this has been the case for others too but we tried to do the Lift and Shift from Liberty out of Galveston in August of this year to the Symphony out of Miami next August and was denied.  When they denied the Symphony, my TA asked if there was any other ship that was departing out of Florida that we could Lift and Shift to and she was told that since our same ship and itinerary is still offered during the 4 week time frame that we could only Lift and Shift to the same ship.   Has this been other people’s experiences?

Thank you Royal!  We had a NOV 2020 Harmony of the sea balcony cabin for eastern Caribbean itinerary. As you all know before the lift and shift we would have lost $200 to change cruises as we do not want to cruise this fall. It’s just too soon for us. I called yesterday and used lift and shift to move our cruise to oct 2021 eastern Caribbean on symphony of the seas. They no longer have category 8d so they put us in the 4d category. We got a great deal on our harmony cruise for only $1400 and $150 OBC. The new symphony cruise for 4d was $3300. They switched us for the same price and even gave us the OBC of $150. It was only a little More then $100  due to the tax and port fee increase. Also, the itinerary dose not have to be exactly the same, just at least one of the same ports. Very happy with Royal and this new policy.
