Yesterday I switched our Oct. 2020 cruise out of Cape Liberty to an Oct. 2021 cruise.    i have not received an email confirming and it does not show up on Royals site either.

Glad to see Ken responded there is a number to get an automated new invoice. I always make sure I have the email with confirmation and go over it before I get off the phone for any changes.

Thank you Royal!  We had a NOV 2020 Harmony of the sea balcony cabin for eastern Caribbean itinerary. As you all know before the lift and shift we would have lost $200 to change cruises as we do not want to cruise this fall. It’s just too soon for us. I called yesterday and used lift and shift to move our cruise to oct 2021 eastern Caribbean on symphony of the seas. They no longer have category 8d so they put us in the 4d category. We got a great deal on our harmony cruise for only $1400 and $150 OBC. The new symphony cruise for 4d was $3300. They switched us for the same price and even gave us the OBC of $150. It was only a little More then $100  due to the tax and port fee increase. Also, the itinerary dose not have to be exactly the same, just at least one of the same ports. Very happy with Royal and this new policy.

Wow good balcony price for that class of ship.  The end of 2021 is very pricey right now for all OA class ships.Good deal

The rep sent us the new invoice while we were on the phone and the new cruise was immediately in our cruise planner page.

Thanks.  I called yesterday and was able to L&S my 9/20 Canada/NE Adventure sailing from Cape Liberty to 9/21 Canada/NE Freedom sailing from Cape Liberty.  I was not able to use the March casino offer of $600 off the price I had with the original booking so they added that to the price.  Still I was able to get the same J3 junior suite category for over $2,000 less than the 9/21 price.

I was not able to use L&S for one of my casino freebies where I had paid a little to upgrade, so I'll wait and if they cancel get my refund.

Don't know if I set a record or not, but dang I was on hold for three hours, ten minutes to accomplish this. 😲

That's a fantastic savings for a jr suite.  3+ hrs on the phone sticks but look at this way each hour was approx  $600 savings!!

One more question. As I stated earlier, we are booked on oasis of the seas for Nov 22, 2020 western Caribbean + perfect day. I am thrilled we could L&S out of Miami instead of Ft. Lauderdale. New wrinkle:  We want to specifically L&S to to nov 20, 2021 same itinerary on symphony of the seas. Would RC tell us we cannot pick our Nov 20 week since Oasis of the seas does same itinerary Nov 27th for a much cheaper fare than the Symphony of the Seas cruise? ( I am a teacher and can only go the Thanksgiving week).  If that’s the case we will have to just take the FCC for our no refundable deposits.

You can change to the Symphony

I haven’t read through all 25 pages of this thread so don’t know if this has been the case for others too but we tried to do the Lift and Shift from Liberty out of Galveston in August of this year to the Symphony out of Miami next August and was denied.  When they denied the Symphony, my TA asked if there was any other ship that was departing out of Florida that we could Lift and Shift to and she was told that since our same ship and itinerary is still offered during the 4 week time frame that we could only Lift and Shift to the same ship.   Has this been other people’s experiences?

I was allowed to change from Radiance out of Vancouver to Ovation from Seattle.  Both were Alaska and both offered next year.   I was told my a not well informed CSR that in  a case similar to yours that Western Carib could not be changed to Eastern Carib.  I believe this is wrong but decided to try again later.

call 1 866 562 7625  press option 4.  Automated system to get a new booking invoice that should have the new cruise listed on it.  If its still the old cruise then call

After another phone call of 1 3/4 hours it all got situated.  Somehow I have a large credit coming back to me in addition to the cancelled planner items I had purchased.  Time will tell.  Sometimes Royal math doesn't make sense to me.

Thank you all for your help!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I managed to do a l & s from Explorer for Aug 20 (which I booked yesterday!)to Harmony Aug 2021. It will be our first time in a suite -  a GT which i think is a 2 bed family suite. Hopefully things will be back to normal by then. Very painless process about 18 min in all on the phone.

Did you have to pay the full fare or just the deposit?

I kept going back and forth on waiting till royal cancels our June 13th Cruise or using the 125% FCC to rebook. Based on 2021 current prices (way to high on Symphony Right now) I decided to shift and lift yesterday to June 26th 2021. On a side note I upgraded to a suite guarantee on the current booking at a great deal and paid the difference. When I received my invoice I told the representative I wanted to shift and lift to 2021. I was then able to pick the Jr suite that I wanted when we move over the booking. Also kept my onboard credit. Overall I was pleased with the process.

So you upgraded to JS GTY on the June a13th 2020 cruise....... and then on same phone call used shift and lift to June 26th 2021.....to same price you got on June 13th 2020 deal?

What's equal to a  Adventure of the Seas Category 3B  aft facing Cabin.......on a Freedom Class ship?

Great work! I may well see you on Harmony next year 😁 I was thinking of doing exactly the same.

I have found a really cheap deal on Allure in August 2020 - but I think I might have to check out Explorer prices before I do 🙃

Did you tell them you were going to L&S the Explorer booking before hand or did you just spring it on them?

And was this with the UK call centre?

Well, I tried L&S on three separate calls and was given different (and wrong) reasons why they can't do it each time.

Here's what I was told...

Call 1) The departure ports need to be the same

Call 2) The cruise you're trying to switch to has CocoCay, and you can't switch to that as it's a different itinerary (was switching Western to Western including Coco Cay.

Call 3) (and possibly my favorite) There is too much of a price difference between the two cruises.

I gave up after three calls, hours on hold and different answers every time. It's a shame the representatives aren't better trained on the policies.

I definitely think the L and S is better option than 125%. I had a May cruise cancelled. I took my 125% and rebooked for same time next year.  I would have been better off if they had had that program at the time. Unfortunately for me they didn't

If I am able to Lift and Shift a cruise from March 2021 that has a refundable deposit to a March 2022 cruise is the deposit still refundable?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes it stays refundable. As long as it's the same duration and basic itinerary.

If we do the lift and shift for our cruise this November 2020 to November 2021 and then before that final payment we cannot go in November 2021, would we be able to cancel and get the FCC?

Yes, the cruise with confidence policy extends until April of 2022.  taking the L&S does not exclude you from cancelliing later under the 48 hour guarantee

I usually do as well and the times that I forget are usually the times they have screwed something up and I have to call back.
