How many FCC's can be applied to a new or existing booking?

Apologies in advance but I can't seem to search this for the answer.

 

We now have 3 FCC's each and maybe shortly 4 if or when our September TA is cancelled,  we do have one booked for 2021 but looking to make a new booking for Alaska, is there a limit on how many FCC's I can use against another booking?  As they have to be used by the end on 2021 I am wondering whether to take some as a refund if RCI have any limitations on maybe one FCC per booking etc.

The only way an FCC is eligible for a refund is if it was from a cruise that had been cancelled by Royal.  
 

if you voluntarily cancelled then you cannot get a refund. 
 

FCC’s on cancelled sailings are valid until April 2022.  They must be applied to a cruise before that.  Check your certificate as there are different apply by dates.

With lift and switch now available, can one still cancel an upcoming sailing and get all of their NRD as a FCC?  Is there a limit on how many NRD FCC can be applied to a sailing?

Yes, cancelling and getting your deposit (penalties are waived) as a FCC is still an option.

 

Only one FCC per person per booking can be applied regardless of the type of FCC.

I just spoke to Crown & Anchor yesterday, as we had 1 FCC we used for a May booking which was cancelled, so our new booking in November is under deposit, and they said that BOTH FCC's can be applied to our new booking once received. They advised we should have our FCC's on May 22nd, lets see what happens.

Our July cruise was just cancelled & we found a cruise for next March we want to book... we are opting for the 125% FCC on the cancelled cruise...but don't have the certificates yet.

 

Could we book the March 2021 cruise, by paying the deposit & then apply the FCC once we receive it?

Yes, in fact FCC can't be used to pay the deposit.  If you already had your FCC in hand you would pay the deposit and then apply the FCC.

Yes and if you call you can put the cruise on hold without a deposit until June 30 or until your FCC comes in.  If your FCC covers the entire amount of the cruise you can then pay only taxes and fees and use your FCC for the balance

Actually, if you have the FCC in hand you are only required to pay the port fees and taxes if your FCC will cover the balance.  If the FCC does not cover the balance you are required to put enough cash down to bring it up to the full deposit amount

That is because the two FCC's will be combined as one new FCC with one new expiry date.

All our kids have "in hand" is a Future Cruise Certificate we bought them while onboard....

You're welcome.  This option went out to travel agents and i have seen a couple posts on here about people being able to call in and do it as well.

Can a really good TA transfer an NRD deposit FCC to a new cruise booked through them?  If the client booked the original NRD without a TA, must it be the client that calls Royal and request the FCC?

That's actually a "next cruise certificate" but yes it can still be used to book a cruise and a FCC could be applied to it.

Anyone that has a FCC can use it to book with whomever they want.  Royal, same TA or different TA.  The client owns the FCC and is free to use it as they choose.  If the TA has the FCC number and the original reservation number they can use it on behalf of the client.

 

It has to be in FCC form.  A TA cannot take over an old booking unless it meets the criteria (under 60 days since creation and not paid in full)

OK - part 2 of this question.  We will have 4 sets of FCC.  They are not a direct match to cruises we will apply them to, so we get our change back in the form of FCC.  At that point, we will have 4 small FCC.  Bummer if we couldn't put them on 1 cruise, all of the small fCC won't be close to covering another cruise.  At that point, could we get our change back in cash refund?

No, the only time you can get cash back is if RCI cancels and you opt for refund (or later convert the full FCC to refund).
