Mississippi Cruises and My Viking Journey

Mississippi cruises have been a coming soon attraction on My VIking Journey for quite a while.  I am wondering if anyone who has the new format My Viking Journey and has booked a Mississippi cruise can see anything beyond Coming Soon on my Viking Journey.

We received a news item on May 18th advising changes were coming in the next few weeks to MVJ, but no changes yet. We have not booked anything on the Mississippi.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the question, but why would you be looking at My Viking Journey for upcoming cruises you have not booked? The Viking River homepage, www.vikingrivercruises.com, has had the Mississippi options open for several weeks, and some are sold out.

I am booked on a New Orleans to Saint Paul cruise on the Viking Mississippi.  I have multiple cruise bookings in My Viking Journey.  One of them is the Mississippi cruise.  I can select the Mississippi cruise but all I get is a splash page saying coming soon.  I have the 'old' format my viking journey.  The core of my question is do the people who have booked a Viking Mississippi cruise and have the new format My Viking Journey see something more than coming soon.  The underlying belief is that Viking has created the necessary function for the Mississippi bookings only in the new version of My Viking Journey.

Ok. Sorry. Now I understand. I am in the same situation as you. When I logon to MVJ, the front page has a message saying:

Coming Soon

My Viking Journey is currently unavailable for Mississippi river cruises as we put the finishing touches on these distinctive voyages. We will notify you as soon as it is ready for you to view cruise & flight details, manage reservations & more.

We are booked on Heart of the Delta and I am getting the same message. How do you know if you have the old or new version of MVJ?

I get the same for  our Expeditions cruise in 2021 --but no trouble seeing the VO cruises I have booked. I have been seeing it since I booked it in February.  And when is Cruise Critic going to add Expeditions to the roll calls??

 

As Heidi13 said, Viking is upgrading MVJ. A lot of us are hoping that the upgrade will open up the current additions to the Viking family. The upgrade is ongoing; some people have already been upgraded. Some people were locked out of MVJ  over the weekend and some of us are assuming that it was an upgrade problem.  I guess eventually we will all be upgraded and hopefully it will go smoothly for us.

None of the recently announced new ventures -- Expeditions (Arctic, Antarctic, Great Lakes), Machu Picchu/Galapagos, Mississippi -- can be accessed on MVJ at this time. They were working on it but got sidetracked a bit.

 

As long as it is listed on your MVJ, in the drop down menu at the top right of the page, where it says YOUR JOURNEY, don't worry.

 

If you don't see it listed, try adding it manually.  On the old version (and maybe even on the new version): https://www.myvikingjourney.com/account

 and click on the button that says . You will need your Viking book number (not to be confused with any booking number that your travel agent may have assigned you).

Add a cruise to MVJ does not work for this cruise.

When I sent this screenshot to another link, I chopped off the top part that had our personal info.  But here is how it is on the new MVJ.  Hit your name and this drop down menu appears, which allows you to add a booking.  When I got the new version, it had dropped the Wake of the Vikings cruise, and I had to add it manually.

It gets you. Viking is slowly rolling it out. One day you will log in and you will find that you have been upgraded. Eventually all accounts will be upgraded.
