Did you have a loss or stay the same this Thursday

You did good no matter what.. you came in today

If you have a gain because of the three day weekend

You'll get back on track and lose it plus ten

Counting today we have four days to lose more weight

Then start the Month of June straight

Summer will be so different this year

Our cruises and vacations aren't near

Some states, cities and towns have some things that are open...others do not

So enjoying ourselves .. will be whatever.. Some will have choices  and some not a lot

Trouble is we always have food to enjoy if going out or staying in

Hope we can enjoy ourselves by eating healthy and by end of June we will have a Win

So true Belle - there is always food!

I am down 1.2 pounds this week. It sure has been a rollercoaster the last few months. I went back and looked at where I was on the 28th of the last several months. I have been up and down within the same 8 pound range since September, and my weekly average is the same as it was in early August. I intermittent fasted a good part of last summer, and that's when I lost almost 30 pounds. I started eating 3 meals a day again at the end of August, and I've just maintained. I don't mind IF; I don't feel like I'm starving myself or anything, and I have plenty of energy. But it sure takes some will power to get in that groove.

I hope everyone has a good week on and off the scale!

Thanks for the poem Belle.  This hasn't been a good week weight wise.  No one to blame but myself.  I have not been exercising (due to my back) and we seem to be eating desserts every night ... wine has been good too!.

I am up 2.8# which means that I am up a total 12.8# from last November.  This is crazy ... but, I will get back on the swing of things.  Did go see my Gyn the other day ... haven't seen him in awhile (they told me I had aged out .. now they say I should still go).  Anyway ... even though I am overweight he said at my age it is ok and that I am healthy.  I want to lose (or re-lose) a total of 16# and then I would be done ... would be higher than I was years ago ... but I would feel better.   And, of course, I want to lose all the weight in my stomach --- the joys of having kids (wouldn't trade it for anything!!!).

Hope everyone has a good week.

Pacruise - I saw last weeks post .... I've been looking at Viking for the med or scandinavia .... someday we will.  (We've been to all the ports you will be going to on numerous occassions ... If you are interested in any ideas, I may be able to come up with a few) ... many might involve food though (including lots of walking).  Jan

Belle, thanks for the poem. Crazy that it is the end of May.

I stayed the same, I'll take it.

Mel, you had a good loss this week. Keep at the rest. Difficult though.

Jan, sorry for the gain. I know you can get it off.

Take care everyone.

HI all!

Belle ~ thanks for starting us off on this last check in of May. Wow, time is flying by even though we aren't doing much.

pacruise804 ~ thanks for your MIL's tip but that won't work for me. I still eat after dinner & look forward to it, but it's just a Tootsie Roll pop & a couple of juice sticks, no chips or chocolate & I lost 2 lbs!!

I am in Ontario & we're still pretty closed down. It is a bus trip to a theatre then dinner at Red Lobster in Aug., then there's another trip to Toronto for the Second City & the Old Spaghetti Factory at the end of Aug.  Good thing about these cancelled trips & lunches out is our chequing account is fatter!!😉

Funny how we keep gaining & losing the same pounds eh?! 20  to 25 lbs is what I'd like to lose.

Have  a nice weekend.

~ Jo ~ 😊

Wonderful words again, Belle.

Great job Mel and Jo for going down, and Jan life is life, and it could all be water (that's what I always hope for). And being healthy is better than weight loss anyway.

Like Diana, I stayed the same, but that is a good thing since this is my lady week and all I want is salt and to take a nap.  HAH!

Keep up the great work ladies!  Today is a new day and a start for a wonderful week.

The holiday weekend certainly caught up with me 😞 up 1.6#

Liz, I feel like I need a nap and it's early to be hitting me - DD has it though so maybe sympathy symptoms.

I got a bunch of produce yesterday and now need to prep and meal plan.  Unfortunately I was wiped out from the shopping so we did pizza last night (and the salt didn't help the weigh-in).  Back on track today though.

I know it is out of context, but I can't help but think of part of Philippians 3:13-14  "... I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize..."

May we all let go of any past mistakes (but learn from them), and strain toward our healthier selves that are ahead.

I can't believe May is almost over! I have finally found a groove. I've been getting up early to do a workout before I work from home, walking the dog in the morning before it gets too hot (crazy weather here this week), and because I see I've done so many steps and worked hard already, I seem to be less likely to totally blow my points over the day. Evenings are still a struggle but I hope it will get easier as I go longer. I am down 4 pounds from my start in March which is nice to see instead of boucning back and forth between the 2 or 3 lost. I hope it continues down now that I am focused.

Thanks Belle for starting the posts every week 🙂

melmar02 - great job on the loss!

Jan - I think the past few months have been a struggle for everyone, keep trying. You can reach your goals.

Diana - great job staying the same! Much harder to stay the same than it is to gain 😉

Jo - two pounds is amazing! Are you enjoying the heat wave as much as I am? I think I may be melting, wish the weight would melt off me too lol

Liz - great job staying the same, I bet you will see a loss next week.

Good Morning All (will be when you read this I'm sure)  No night owls like me or you just don't come in late.

See we had some "ups and downs" which is par for the course. We would like "downs" all the time but

sometimes it doesn't happen. These times are hard with everyone staying home and what's at home....

Boredom and Food! (even with having many things we could do..but don't want to)

I think we're all doing good with our" Ups and Downs"  we're coming in here being aware of what we're

doing even if not doing as well as we want.  Just think at these terrible times we're holding our own and

not gaining "Tons"  Where would we be if we didn't come in  these months.. could be up 10--15 pounds.

Mel...Nice loss. Think we're all on the same rollercoaster

Jan...Your back gotten any better? Hope so.  Sorry you had a gain. Why are desserts bad for us?  Not fair!

Diana...Good you stayed the same after the steak BBQ.  Hope your dinner out was good. How did it go?

Jo...Nice you loss too and was able to have a few light snacks. I know time is going by fast but slow too.

MaiTia...Glad you stayed the same too. Can be hard at the "time of the month." Watch the Chocolate!

Pac...Sorry you had a gain but holidays can to that especially with family at home.

Mama...Nice your down since March and doing exercise. I can't get up early anymore becoming an afternoon person.

Me...I lost a 1 lb.  I tell you this same lb keeps going away and then coming back. Hope it doesn't come back.

Having a nice day today. Both my son and daughter are coming over for lunch. Take out, on patio with distance,

1st time, remember had each separate days for mothers day.  Have to be careful for my son because daughter

working in market.  Going to celebrate his birthday late which he doesn't know.  Cake and ice cream.

I can see the lb wanting to come back! Won't let it.

Enjoy your Friday and weekend but still come in and talk.

Jo, nice you had a good loss. Congrats.

Liz, good on staying the same.

Pacruise, that gain is not too bad, at least you had some fun.

Mama, congrats on your total loss since March. Agree with you about getting exercise in the morning. Sets the day off right for me.

Belle, congrats on the lb. loss, that's great.

We made it out for dinner last night. For now we are going to chain restaurants and only going after reading their protocols on their website. Last night we went to Chili's. Went very well.

We got there early, 4:45pm. No wait. Later when we left they did have a wait and were having guests wait outside on prespecified markers for distancing. Tables spaced well apart. They cleaned everything A LOT. All workers in masks and gloves. There were hardly any diners so we felt comfortable.

We did ok eating wise, actually brought most of our dinner home. Stomachs smaller from no cruises and no eating out.......

Today we finally get a break from the heat. Yesterday was 105. Today's high about 85.

Have a good day, Diana

Belle, thanks for the poem.  And, thanks for your encouraging words on my weight loss journey.   You truly are the glue that holds us all together.

Great losses Mel, Jo, Mama and Belle.

Good job staying the same Diana and MaiTai.

Sorry for the gain Jan and pacruise.

I am down a few ounces.   Still a few pounds away from my final goal weight.

Long Island is now in Phase 1 of our reopening.  My daughter starts back to work next week.   I am hoping that my DH can continue to work from home.   He is retiring in December and he can hardly wait.

Stay healthy everyone.

Rose, good to hear from you. A loss, whatever it is, is good.

Update for hubby and I, we cancelled our 18 day Transatlantic Rome-NY at the end of October. Too risky and too many unknowns. And I definitely don't want to be on a plane for 14 hours with all that possible viral load!

Hopefully things settle down in 2021.

I really got my heart rate up this morning! I received an email that I earned a casino comp cruise...but I had to book by tomorrow!  Woohoo! But now I'm in panic mode because I'm feeling rushed. So I'm running around the house, trying to think of all the questions I need to ask our travel agent, going between the office where DH is trying to finally get our taxes done and my laptop which has no charge left. Where is that power cord? Upstairs in our school room? No. Down in the living room? No. Did the kids use it in their rooms upstairs? No. Finally found it in the dinning room. Right next to the stairs; the central hub of all the places I was checking. I must have passed it 20 times! So I finally read over the email again, get my questions together (there were a lot since our first comp cruise), and send it off. Then I remember Royal's casino has a website where you can look up if you have earned rewards, and maybe I can find some of the info there. Well I log on, and no offers are pulling up with my loyalty number. Huh, maybe the email was really for my husband, so I enter his info. Nothing. Then it dawns on me. The travel agent just got my mother in law's loyalty number from her first cruise with us in February and added it to the booking she is going on with us in January. She won big twice and donated most of it all back to the casino on that February cruise! I check her loyalty number on the casino website, and there's the offer. I go back into the email, and sure enough, in the teeny tiny print, in the middle of a bunch of other teeny tiny print, that I had read through three times, there was a line that said "This email is intended for..." Guess what? My name wasn't the one listed. Well, at least I got my step count up!🤣

Good Afternoon All..Hope your day is going well even with everything going on the world today.

No wonder everyone likes the 1950's seems like it was a worry free time or the 60's could be a Hippie!

( of course those times had problems to but people seem to forget) Just a shame it seems our world

will never be the same again.

Rose..Thank You, your so sweet.  Happy you lost a few ounces. You know you'll be at goal soon.

Your there.. just that at times you'll be a little up or a little down at times. Hope your husband

can work from home...if not.. could he retire early?

Diana..So glad your dinner out was good. That you felt safe and enjoyed your dinner.  Sounds

like they had every thing down pat.  So sorry you had to cancel your cruise. It hurts.  I was sad when my

Europe one was cancelled.   Aren't you looking for one next year?

Mel...So sorry all that running around about the free cruise.  Did you know she can get the free cruise

and if you stay in the same room with her it's free for you too. Or whoever stays in the room with her.

Each just have to pay the port taxes.

I have a free one for April and my daughter will go with me for free.

Good Evening,

Mel, way to go getting those steps in. Exhausting up and down the stairs though.....

Belle, yes we're looking for 1, maybe 2 cruises next year. Hubby would like to go somewhere around April or May but I don't know. I think I'd be ok with later 2021.

We all have to see what happens in August when ships are supposedly going to do a few sailings. I'll believe when I see it. And if they happen, what are the new protocols, will anyone get sick with COVID 19, etc., etc. So much to consider. Then there is Fall when they expect a second wave of the virus.

For now I'm just happy hubby and I can go out to dinner once in a while.

Diana I have 2 coastal booked for next April just waiting to see what happens till then.

Always can cancel. I know cruise lines want to make money but with so many ships taking

crews home and ports closed..I think with winter coming and not knowing about virus coming back

then, I think Jan, 2021 sounds like a good time to start cruises. But I know they will start Mexico and

the Caribbean as soon as they can.

Forgot to say my take out lunch with my son and daughter was very nice. Nice to see them at the same time.

Weather was nice, sat outside on the patio under umbrella.  Mexican food and drinks, then cake and ice cream, I know

to much food. But son was surprised with cake and ice cream for his birthday.  So a good day.

Then in evening watching TV, so sad what starts out as peaceful protest turns ugly. Now in so many states.

Always the ones who are trying to make a peaceful statement and then the others who use it to loot, start fires.

People get hurt or killed. They steal and destroy their own towns.  So sad.  The world going thru so much and now this...

another sad point is there will be some people getting the virus by so many people being together yelling, shouting

and not wearing masks.

I forget where everyone lives but please be careful out there. Wear your masks, main thing stay home if you can.

She's high risk and is considering cancelling on our January cruise. While I know she would love to bring me, it's just not in the cards for this year.

Having a good Sunday? Staying Safe?  Take Care.

Mel sorry you can't take the free cruise, hoping another might come along in the next few years

that you can take.  I had another offer from another cruise line won't take it because you have

to fly even thro next year don't want to fly yet. Just hope another will come along.

Good morning and Happy Monday!

I woke up this morning to a 4# weight loss from Thursday (so I suspect there was definitely some fluid retention Thursday).  The county where my massage therapist and hair dresser are is going green on Friday - yay!  Still waiting for the county with the church and gym but expecting that to be the following week.

My heart hurts for the time we live in but I saw this on FB this morning that will hopefully help others:

"Faith is seeing light with your heart when all your eyes see is darkness."

Temperatures dropped here so it is pleasant - heading for my workout soon then grocery shopping.  There was a commercial years ago about "time to make the donuts" now my life is "time to buy the produce" 🙂

Pacruise, great loss. Glad the weather is cooler. We are heating up: 90 today, 100 next couple of days.

Hubby and I went out for lunch today. Then a little grocery shopping. We limit our visits to 2 places.

Hope everyone is safe from the virus and protests.

Stay safe out there. Diana

DD and I walked to the polling booth this morning, about 3 miles round trip (PA primaries were postponed until today).  I think it was the first she had to wear a mask and didn't find it too bad for a short period but hopes they don't need them full time when school returns.  One of the ladies that helps with voting brings her golden retriever and it was nice to see he could still be there today.  It was a nice walk, but felt a little dehydrated by the time we were almost home - I guess I need to start taking water with me on walks.

Made a simple but good supper last night: 1/2 a bag of shredded coleslaw mix (cabbage & carrots, no dressing) added to a bag of P.F. Chang Beef and Broccoli for an easy stir fry after grocery shopping.  I don't know why, but after shopping I don't want to cook 🤷‍♀️. It was a little saltier than I prefer, but overall very tasty - and broccoli is usually one of my least liked vegetables.

Good Morning,

Pacruise, great on the walking. Your dinner sounds good to me.

I know the face masks are a pain. Hubby and I have just gotten used to them. Actually even ordered some nicer ones in nice colors........

This morning (7:30 a.m.) I was cutting spent rose blooms. Already very hot. That's enough yard work for me today. I melt in the heat.........

Hubby is talking cruises and travel. I have to remind him what a pain it will be for us to travel (fly) for the future given that we have to fly to go anywhere. Our home airport is not a major hub so it is at least 2-3 flights (pre COVID-19) to get anywhere. What is it now....4 flights, 8 hour layovers between flights? No thank you. We're getting too old for that.

Hope everyone has a nice day. Diana

If our November cruise sails we would need to fly (departs from Miami) but we are fortunate to have a lot of opportunities within a 3 hour drive including the NY/NJ ports and Baltimore.

Stay cool, Diana.  I think I'm going to drag DS out to help with some yard work since it's cool here today.

It's hot and humid in north Texas today. I've spent the last two days in my closet weeding out old clothes...my FitBit thought I was swimming trying all my shirts on. 😆 DH had a doctor appointment yesterday, so we started our drink of the day fun last night (instead of last week when we were supposed to be on our cruise). It was nice to have that tropical feeling with a Mai Tai in our living room, but I sure missed the sea breeze! I'm trying to be really good with my food since we're drinking every night this week. Hoping to stay even with last week.
