mafig Posted October 14, 2020 #26 Share Posted October 14, 2020 I just wear earings and a watch. I don't wear rings (even my wedding band) because I sanitize often and don't want that gunk in my jewelry. Plus I remember reading that rings can harbor Covid......that's probably not true, but I just keep them off anyway.
Lady Chew Posted October 15, 2020 Author #27 Share Posted October 15, 2020 I agree with you - it seems like I am washing my hands and/or using hand sanitizer every 30 minutes, sometimes less!, so I don't wear my rings to keep the gunk out.
Nebr.cruiser Posted November 8, 2020 #28 Share Posted November 8, 2020 I had my ears pierced back in about 1964 with the very stupid 'self-piercer' earrings they had then. Basically you wore earrings with sharp points that gradually bore a hole in your ear. Talk about the hard way to do it! Any way, fast forward 40 years or more and yes, my holes did start to close up, especially in one ear. I had always been a little sensitive to various metals, though, and sometimes they got irritated. It's not an urban legend, since it happened to me. Note that I was not wearing earrings every day for many years, but only when going out or 'dressing up', not just around home. It got so that I could usually get my left earring in with only a little work, but the right it felt like I was punching a new hole in every time. So, gradually I quit wearing them at all, or very seldom. About 3 years ago I was walking around Wal-mart with time to waste as I was getting my oil changed, walked by the jewelry section and on a whim had my ears re-pierced. Now I make sure to wear earrings several times a week, mostly when leaving the house. If I don't, the holes still tend to be difficult to get through. I don't like wearing earrings every day and can't tolerate them while sleeping. I do enjoy being able to wear them when I want again.
fyree39 Posted November 10, 2020 #29 Share Posted November 10, 2020 I put in a pair about once a week. If I go longer than that, my right ear always gives me trouble.
Barb Nahoumi Posted December 26, 2020 #30 Share Posted December 26, 2020 I wear earrings all the time, every day.

I also wear them every day as well as decent casual clothes even though it is just for us and our doormen who come up to deliver. sloppy does not cut it for me....... shipgeeks Posted December 27, 2020 #32 Share Posted December 27, 2020 I wear earrings every day, too, and now I've started wearing perfume almost every day. My last two bottles went bad before I finished them, so now I figure I might as well use it and enjoy it even if just for myself.
