We have booked a 1n cruise in YC... !!
Assuming we can board around noon and then not be off until noon the next day... how would you maximise the time and the experience to truly benefit from the ship and all YC provides? 🥂

On Divina.

STAY in the YC.  Dont bother with the rest of the ship.  Enjoy the private pool/sun deck,  private lounge with great beverages & quiet evening entertainment (pianist, or guitar, or violin), private restaurant, butler service (try room service for pizza once).

Gotta leave YC for dining however - restaurant at opposite end of ship - you will need to vacate ur cabin around 800am - usually latest disembarkation is 1000am ish.  What sailing date are u?

Walking to dinner is actually fun.  You get to see what is happening on the rest of the ship (crowds).  The first time you go to the restaurant the butler may escort you and introduces you to the maître de.   When you arrive at the pier, be sure to go to the white tent to check in as your butler will take your hand carry item and place it in your room.  Debarkation is a hoot.  You are basically escorted down in the elevator and whisked off the ship...bypassing the lines.  The best part of YC is truly the butlers.  Unfortunately, you won't have time to really get the top notch service as your stay isn't long enough to allow them to know your preferences.  You will be back.

We have YC booked for a week next year too...

Is the restaurant open for lunch on boarding day?
Ive been on Divina so know my way around, I hope the guy with the saxophone 🎷 is still in the wine bar!

So I’m thinking:

board

drink

lunch

tour ship

tea

drink

muster

spa

Change for dinner

cocktails

dinner

show

drinks

nightclub

pizza ( what time do they serve till?)
bed

breakfast ( can I get a Buck’s Fizz?)

disembark

For a one night cruise, I agree with this post.  My YC experience was on Meraviglia with the YC Restaurant within the confines of the YC.  Divina lacks appeal to me because of the YC Restaurant's location.  Another poster said that the trip to/from the Restaurant does permit one to see a bit of the other options available (and on Meraviglia I did enjoy some of those options).  I underused my Butler, I am sure.  But, the overall attentiveness of the staff (other than the YC Lounge bartender when I sat at the bar) was good.

Really?  Not my experience whatsoever!  I was caught in the same lines as everyone else in order to get through C&I.  "Whisked off the ship"...yes.  That did take place, but then, once in Terminal F, the lines began.

Unfortunately, once you're off the ship the reality of queues returns, you're no longer YC.

Neither of my embarkation or disembarkation experiences on Meraviglia as a YC guest met my expectations.  That's a reason why I would like to "try again" and give them a second chance.

The YC luggage was in a special area.  After we claimed our luggage the path to customs and immigration was separate from the main lines.  We had one person in front of us who was also YC. It took 12 minutes from the time we left the YC until we  we were in an Uber and on our way.  We had an early flight and were among the first off the ship.

There are no special lines once you are in the hands of Customs, which you are once you enter the baggage area.

Embarkation on the Seaside was awesome.  Showed up to the YC tent, signed some papers to say we were there, and was white gloves whisked through security to the YC lounge to finish paperwork.  Once there was a group of about 6 of us, we were all escorted through the health check and onto the ship.  We were the last ones in our group to check in, so we were taxi to Top Sail Lounge in 15 minutes.

Disembarking was similar.  When we were ready, our Butler escorted us down the elevator and to the head of the line, much to the ire of one lady in line who was demanding to speak to security because we cut them in line.  At that point we were just another passenger needing to get through US Customs, so we had to wait in all the wonderful lines with everyone.  Even then, I think we were Top Sail Lounge to taxi in 30 minutes

We have disembarked in Barcelona and in Miami.

In Barcelona our butler escorted us until we had picked up our luggage so that was easy.

In Miami the butlers only escort you to the front of the line for leaving the ship. Once off the ship the experience may differ. Our luggage, gold tags, were located "further down the line" so we could pass parts of the line to get to our luggage and saved some time. (The rest of the luggage was to the left when entering the terminal and we could pass that line and turn right and right again to pick up our luggage before customs/immigration.)

It was exactly your experience!  That's what the poster said.   They do get you around the lines to get off the ship, but then you are on your own with the masses.  That's all the poster said.

My luggage was in a special area.  The path to C&I was not separate.

My Butler "picked" me up at my suite, took me to the disembarkation deck and then turned me over to another staff member.  He was not dressed as a Butler.  That person then delivered me off the ship where I was turned over to a shore staff gentleman who engaged a Porter to get the luggage and both stayed with me until I got to my car in Parking Garage G.

What did I do wrong?  Did I not tip my Butler sufficiently the night before we arrived in Miami?

No customs inFrance, you simply walk off and collect your luggage.
It’s very easy (disembarked there twice before).

We want to be last off. So 10a is the latest?

I guess this is a European itinerary?  If yes, you should be able to stay on board until a few hours before departure, as they don't need to empty the ship fully before embarking guests.

In your position I would:

- board around 1200.

- enjoy a long lunch in YC restaurant, view the dinner menu and decide where you want dinner (e.g. diamond card menu in butchers cut or YC restaurant).

- relax in Top Sail lounge, YC pool deck or the spa

- attend safety demo

- Cocktails and sail-away.

- dinner

- show

- drinks and music in a lounge (my preference would be outside the YC)

- sleep

- Leave cabin and breakfast on YC pool deck

- newspaper / relax in lounge or top deck / Spa

- last long lunch

- debark around 1400 to 1500 after lunch.

I've not done a 1 night cruise, but I'm a fan of the 2 to 3 day mini-cruises MSC offers in Europe - you can see three different cities in a long weekend and get a lot of value from the restaurants and drinks package.  Not necessarily a relaxing holiday, but a great weekend 🙂

^^ wow are we able to have lunch on the disembark day too? That would be great ( and really making the most of it)!   27hrs at least!

Do you have to go “downstairs” to the muster or do they hold it in the YC Area?

I would definitely suggest going to Butcher's Cut for your evening meal to make the experience really special. You can sample the YC restaurant for multiple other meals but BC beats the YC main dining service for sure.

The spa is not fantastic on this class of ship, just some steam rooms and hot beds so I'd make that a quick visit compared to if it were a better equipped area... depends on what you like of course. There's no indoor jacuzzi for example.

We had a issue with waiter in butcher cut had zero knowledge of wine, food was good. We spent about 23 hours a day in YC , we enjoyed pool and lounge and entertainment in lounge . Did like champagne bar and some of the other musicians on the ship and some of the main shows.

Reading the comments about Butcher's Cut, I keep wondering if I "missed something" for a dinner on Meraviglia.  Waiter with zero knowlegde of wine, but food was good.  That venue would not have had Luis or Arthur.  I remain satisfied with my YC experience.  Like you, George C, I enjoyed some of the shows and the musicians performing in other venues.  A bartender at the forward outside pool's bar made me one of the best Bloody Mary's I have ever consumed and was interestingly conversant as he had time.

We loved the YC experience so much we are booked again in November, my frustration with waiter was we asked for a Napa Cabernet and waiter brought out a very cheap California generic wine and claimed it was a Napa wine. We had upgraded our liquor package so we could get better wines and other liquor .

I’m guessing the butler can make my BC reservations when we board?
although  I’ve never had issues getting tables in any specialty on MSc at the time we want.   I like BC and think it is better than Chops on RCI..... now dreaming of steak 🥩 and that cookie 🍪!!
