FCC’s can now cover deposit amount

Recommended Posts

Just noticed that Royal added this to the FAQ’s.  Great move just wish that they had done this sooner.

27. Can Future Cruise Credits be used to pay for the deposit owed on my client’s reservation?

NEW! Yes - as long as the value of the Future Cruise Credit covers the full deposit amount, no additional funds will be oweduntilFinalPayment,atwhichtimeanycruisefarebalanceandtaxes/feeswillberequired. IfthevalueoftheFCC does not cover the full deposit amount, additional funds will be required to meet the total deposit needs and, thereafter, the remaining balance due at Final Payment.

Thank you for the information. Can you please tell me where you found that information? I looked on RC website and couldn't find it.

It was in the FAQ’s that travel agents can access. It’s probably buried somewhere on the website but hard to find.

I just did a reservation today that I hadn’t applied a deposit to and my new reservation after the FCC’s were applied shows that no more money is due until final payment.

Are you a TA? Its sounds like one of those things only TAs can see.

Thank you as always 😊...great news.

We are also grateful to RCCL for finally getting refuds.  Now if RCCL can please kindly do two things:

1. When we get refunds, there is no way to tell which cruise it was for. For those with only one cruise booked, this is not a problem. But it's confusing for those who booked multiple cruises.

2. Every single refund that we've received has been short...from about $60 to $547. This will mean more time on the phone...waiting...then having to explain how much each refund was short.

Anyone know if one FCC can be use for a b-2-b cruise?

Yes it can, I have one in the works now.  You need to call and it will have to get a supervisors approval.  The FCC will be applied to the first cruise now.  Three weeks before final payment you will have to call and ask that the remainder of the FCC be applied to the second cruise.

Ourusualbeach, where are you seeing that at?  I looked in the faq's for CwC in cruising power but question #27 is not that question.  I have a couple clients that this would be useful with.

Thanks

Loyal to you always. CWC, not cancelled sailings. FAQ’s updated June 6th.

Yep me too. I would have used our October cruise deposit to pay for our S&L cruise on Empress. 😇

Oh well. Stuff happens.

@Ourusualbeach  So if you don’t apply the FCC for the first leg until 2 weeks before final payment you should be able to use the FCC for both cruises (B2B) at that time?

You have to apply the FCC to the first leg early, then 3 weeks before final payment you call to get the balance applied to the second leg

that is how I was told it had to be done.  I’m not sure if they can do it the way you are suggesting.

@Ourusualbeach thanks Ken
so what is early?

My daughter is my TA and is mainly a Disney specialist but is becoming very familiar with Royal because of me.

I will have her call when I am with her to see what we can do.  I want to use one on a November B2B and Another on a December B2B but I really want to make sure they are sailing first.

May have to use them for 2021 cruises.

It needs to be applied early enough so that the FCC for the first cruise processes leaving enough time for the second to process before final payment.  i would say 6 weeks to be safe.
