Koningsdam Pinnacle Suite Information

I need some input by more experienced HAL cruisers other than myself (My one & only HAL cruise was on the Veendam in 1996). I recently booked (courtesy hold until DW signs off) the Pinnacle suite on the Koningsdam for a 17 day Hawaii cruise in January 2022.  The cruise will be a COVID-19 delayed retirement present to myself (I wanted to treat myself to the best cabin).  I'm basically looking for someone who has recently stayed in the PS to share their observations.

Thanks in advance for any replies.....🙂🙂🙂

A number of us have stayed in Pinnacle Suites over the years. Its a great experience. Do you have specific questions?

Basically what to expect along with the following questions:

1. Mini bar set up in the larger fridge & is there a cost?

2. I'm assuming there is no butler, with this in mind is the Neptune concierge the go to person for specialty dining reservations, etc?

3.  Are there any special perks such as priority seating at shows, priority tendering, bridge tour, etc?

4.  What is breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill like?

5.  Can you have dinner in your stateroom via the MDR or a specialty restaurant and is it course by course?

6.  Anything else you'd care to add.....

Thanks Again.....🙂🙂🙂

1. Minibar is set up in the pantry fridge. It is charged the same as any room.

2. Correct, but the Neptune concierge will make many possible things happen.

3. Special privileges vary a little by ship. Suites always get tender priority, all ships. No priority seating at shows, but we have received priority choice of seating location in MDR.

4. No experience on our part.

5. Dinner in the Penthouse is a treat...one of the special things. Talk to the concierge....you will be pleased with what they arrange for this. It is definitely not the same as the cabin service.

Thank you for your reply.  One last question, what is dinner in the Penthouse?

We have done several penthouses on Holland but not the Konsingdam, however we are booked on the Konsingdam for the Hawaii trip in January. Who knows what it will be like now, but  in the  past as a penthouse passenger,  they escorted you to your room from the dock. You start out feeling very special. If there are any lines at any time for any event or to get your passport or anything like that, someone from the Neptune lounge will come get you and walk you to the front of the line. When asked your room number anytime, everyone seems to bend over even more than normal to grant your every wish. Dinner in your cabin is really nice. They will serve you and your guests and not bring every thing all at one time. If you choose to do an open house, they will provide- free of charge, a very nice spread of  food decoratively displayed and plenty of glasses, dishes and silver ware. No alcohol but  everything else. Breakfast is now in club orange on the Konsingdam, I believe, instead of the Pinnacle, but just a much nicer smaller venue with more personalized service. Again, if it is, as it was.  We are in a Neptune suite for the trip so perhaps we will meet in the Neptune lounge.. We also get the club orange restaurant and actually the Neptune lounge concierges will provide snacks for us if we give a party and we usually do. When we have had penthouses, we sometimes provide the wine, but often we suggest for our guests to bring a bottle and everyone is happy to, just to get to see a penthouse.  Enjoy it, it is fun . Hope to see you on board.

It is white table cloth, served either on your balcony or dining room (Penthouse has a dining room). Waiter is assigned to you for the meal, and it is served course by course, out of the Butler's pantry. You may order in advance...up to the concierges to say if you can order from any menu, or just the MDR menu. In our cases, we typically got surf and turf, even if it wasn't on the menu that night, so the menu didn't matter.

Hi, "Neighbor" Bob! (DH Dave and I live in Chandler.)

Would be very grateful if you'd post a review of your K-dam Pinnacle Suite experience--plus any tips or concerns.

Many thanks,

Mary-Lou

PS: Would also love any new comments from others who have experienced this suite.
