nosapphire Posted June 20, 2020 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2020 Been idly looking for cruise news via Google, and came across a forum for shareholders of a UK cruise line. It became quite quickly evident that the individual shareholders are extremely confident about how eager people are to get back on a cruise ship as soon as possible They are also coming up with suggestions as to how the line in question (which has not made any public comments about how they will restart) can cut the risks. One was to make it compulsory for all bookings to agree to take a test for Coronavirus 24 hours before boarding - did not give plans how this would be done, but they were sure that a private company could do it. They thought this would inspire confidence in future passengers and fill the ships up. The other was even better - apparently there is no need whatsoever to reduce capacity for social distancing - all passengers have their own cabins, so meals can be taken in the cabin and the ships can sail with 100% capacity. Pretty sure that most of us on here , without too much effort, can see the flaws in both suggestions. Luckily, I do not think that the people making these suggestions are on the board of the line in question.
