Upcoming Carnival Elite Cruises

Just received an e-mail that I will be able to book new Elite Cruises (up to three) starting on July 2.

My particular offer was a free balcony and $300 in free play.  Looking forwarding to seeing which cruises they will be offering and when.

I have had five cruises cancelled so far due to COVID-19, and still have ones on the book for October (Premier), November (Royal), December (Viking) and February (Royal).  If the offer is good, I might lose the October Premier but am committed to the others (if they sail, of course).

Who else got the offer and when can you start booking?

So the elites can start booking on June 30?  We also got the offer starting on July 2  balcony & $300 FP. If they start on June 30, cabins may be gone by July 2!!  Many noncasino regular cruisers are moving their cancelled cruises to future dates with that $600 onboard credit, so there may be not many cabins open for us elites. Just curious what months these elites will be in. Probably wont be on our ultra & premier sailings.

They staggered the booking dates so the bigger players get first dibs.  If you call early on July 2, I bet you find some openings.

My mom had the free balcony + 500 FP, booking on June 30.  We just booked yesterday for Jan 16 Freedom out of Galveston for 8 days. This replaces our July 12 which was canceled. I haven’t cruised in over a year, definitely hoping this happens!

Since we live about 20 minutes from the port, we booked the Legend for March.  Too late for the Mardi Gras but probably for the best.  We have had five cancellations already and have cruises booked for September, October, November, December, February and March booked. Any guesses on how many of these will actually sail?

We called & switched our Feb 27 Radiance(spec ed premiere) to the Feb 27 Magic (elite). Heard that Radiance hasn't even started work on it. No penalty-one time virus change is allowed!  Also booked the elite Mardi Gras in April.  We also have had many cancellations already, & have cruises still going on Oct'20 ( a real nice dealers choice free inside, 16 nite Legend Hawaii-probably wont sail) thru May '21.

Its going to be hard for cruises to start up again. Not as easy as opening restaurants or hotels.

Agreed.  I think they will start with three and four night cruises, just to test the waters.  Then slowly start opening up the seven night and longer itineraries as they get the crew back and ports start to reopen.  Of my six booked cruises, I am hoping that at least three of them sail. The September and November ones are three nights to the Bahamas on Royal.  Somehow I keep booking, but likely because they are free and available for rebooking if cancelled by Royal.

UPDATE:  I double-checked my Elite offers today, and much to my surprise, there were two Mardi Gras sailings now included for March.

I called my PVP and was able to switch the 3/14 Legend for the 3/13 Mardi Gras, and saved $30 in port fees in the process.

There was no charge for the change.  Good news all the way around!

Got emails this am, that our back to back Mardi Gras Nov 28'20(reg. dealers choice) & Dec 5'20(premiere)-cancelled. Wont be ready yet!   "Mardi Gras will sail to Port Canaveral as we complete any remaining installations and furnishings, with her first cruise now scheduled for February 6, 2021. All sailings departing from November 14, 2020 to January 30, 2021 have been cancelled."

So I guess they decided to add the 2 elites on it.

I booked both of the 7 day Mardi Gras Elite cruises (06/05 and 07/10) yesterday. My offer included a free* balcony. I managed to grab the same stateroom for both cruises, a category 8L extended balcony on deck 10.

The 06/05 cruise came to a total of $127.74 and includes $800 OBC. The 07/10 cruise came to a total of $118.74 and also includes $800 OBC. Couple those incredibly low rates with the paid parking at the port, free drinks everywhere on the ship and all of the other Elite Cruise perks...it was impossible to pass up. Now fingers are crossed hoping those cruises actually sail.

We just did the same, moved our canceled March Magic Ultra to a Mardi Gras Ultra casino deal Aug7. And has the $800 OBC on it. Found out that if you dont use all of the onboard credit, you can buy carnival giftcards with whats left, in the ice cream/candy store, to use onboard a future cruise.

That's great to know! I was trying to figure out how I was going to burn through that much OBC. Usually my OBC goes towards my bar bill, but that won't be necessary on these cruises. Thanks for sharing!

Remember that many are going to have the extra $600 OBC cause of all the cancellations. So I figure we wont be able to use as much as we want to with many others doing it also. Reservations for the steakhouse will go fast for the week, the excursions will also get sold out fast, etc. (And we wont need to use it on drinks!)

We are also on the 07/10 through a really nice Elite offer that includes a lot of casino cash and a 'suite'.

Hoping that things will be relatively uneventful and we have a smooth trip. See you there Scurvy Seadog.

So far I am batting 0.00.  Twelve cruises cancelled, including October, November, December, January (added after original post), February and March (Mardi Gras).  However, still have Carnival Horizon for late April, Mardi Gras for early June, and Allure for mid-August.  Hopefully one or more of these will sail!

Over 20 for us cancelled. All we've been doing this year is getting great casino offers, booking them & then they are cancelled. Lucky we dont have to worry about airfare. So we have a bunch now from one in March & then May thru Dec. (on both Carnival & Royal). Who knows when they will start up!!
