Restarting Cruise operations in Europe

We're hoping to transfer our credit voucher to a European river cruise next year. Meanwhile we're off to a beautiful boutique hotel in the West Highlands (of Scotland) in October for a relaxing time in lovely surroundings accompanied by great grub. Nice to have something to look forward to.

One day we'll make it to our Canada tour and Alaska cruise which we should be on right now. 😞

2021 will be the year of Canada and Alaska touring and cruising!!!!

Please have a pint of Strongbow for us who are "enjoying" (what else can we do?) our staycations.....

We loved our time in Scotland.  Hope to return to the Orkney and Sheltland Islands one day.

Wishing you the best of luck with it.  Post a picture when it's all done!

Well, the pool isn’t done, but the initial layout of new backyard/pool is done.  Construction drawings next.  Things have escalated “a bit” from our original thoughts....  Good thing we are saving money on travel... and clothes, and haircuts, and restaurants, and entertainment, and cars, and ....

The idle mind is the devil's workshop.

Wait....so are we seeing an actual picture of the property and pool or an architectural rendering of it?  Either way...looks very nice. So did you decide on going with chlorine or non for the pool?  Lots of people like SWG around my area.

house is real, but the back yard and background are computer generated.  Architect tools have come a long way!

And this is only version 1.0.  Once he incorporates our comments/changes he will do 2.0, which will be even more photorealistic.

Haven’t gotten to picking a filtering system yet.  Will do that in consultation with pool companies during bidding.

(Dear moderator, sorry for getting so off-topic...)

Yes, we have had a couple of days to cogitate on it and will only make a couple of minor tweaks.  We gave the architect very little guidance as to what we wanted and he seemed to read our minds (hope he didn’t see the devil working away...).  Came out way better than I expected.

Yeah...with the outdoor grill  / bar area (NOW I know why Jim would enjoy visiting...) and a fire pit...absolutely. I've never regretted having a pool (although this summe things got testy when it seemed I had sort of a toxic chemical soup going on with the water - had to literally hold my breath to swim from end to the other. Otherwise the fumes were too strong. Took weeks for it to calm down. Learned alot during that time though about a non-chlorine shock product that I've never used before. Already looking forward to next season to see how things work out. Wow....yes...WAY off topic here. Post (real) pics when the whole thing is done.

Ye Pow'rs, wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o' fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu' prayer
Gie her a haggis!

Will never forget our welcome dinner on a Tauck England/Scotland/Wales tour - they had a bag piper and some guy that same the "Ode to the Haggis".....lol.....quite memorable 😁

Duquephart, stick your wing tips in your ears for this...  A couple of years ago we took the Tattoo package where you have champagne and hors d’oeuvres on the ramparts of Edinburgh castle, followed by dinner in the castle gatehouse.  Best roast duck I’ve ever had!

Package included seats in the royal box, and a great cocktail party with the invited “dignitaries”  afterwards.  Met a bunch of interesting folk.  Open bar!

Package was pretty pricey, but worth every penny.

(Note - Suit and tie required for the royal box...)
