I apologize if this has already been addressed....new to this cruise line.  We are thinking of cruising, early Fall, on the Snake River.  Any word on the departure port? of if this is going to happen?  Thank you

No Need for apologies.  If we all had all the answers, there would be no need for this forum.

ACL has two itineraries that cover the Columbia and Snake Rivers.  One is a seven night itinerary and the other is a ten night voyage.  Both voyages are one-way and leave from either Portland, Oregon to Clarkston, WA, or the reverse.  The longer itinerary has more/longer stops.  We recently, October, 2019, did the longer version from Portland to Clarkston.  We found it a most enjoyable cruise.  We were aboard the American Song.

Now,  as to whether your planned cruise will sail ..... Who knows??

We just received word this week that our scheduled cruise (ACL's Grand New England) scheduled to leave 01 August, 2020, has been cancelled.  A week earlier we were still optimistic that it might sail, but, alas it was not to be.

Good Luck with your planning.  We find the American Cruise Line experience to be quite satisfactory, after seven different itineraries.

An update on my cancelled cruise.  I filled out FCC form and spoke to TA last week, asking to re-book on 9-29-21.  They said that that would be another $500 for same cabin.  The TA told me that I could speak my regular TA/river cruise specialist the   next day(Friday).  He never called.  I sent an email on Sat.  No response.  I called on Tues.  I finally got a call back today.  They were having phone/internet problems.  ACL was not applying my next cruise discount,  given when I booked in Feb 2019 aboard Pearl Seas Mist.  Once this discount was applied, I was able to upgrade from AAL cabin to AAC cabin  and still have $140 credit.

Sounds like a "win/win" situation.

Hope you enjoy your North-West Pioneers cruise as much as we did ours.

Our October 5, 2020 Snake River Cruise was cancelled in early September.

The official reason was the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.   The social unrest in Portland (and the fires which were not even 'on the radar' at that time) has reinforced the decision to cancel.   I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical when ACL declined to offer a refund to our original form of payment (charge card).  They only wanted to "mail a check to the passenger's residence" (a quote from my travel agent).

KUDO's to ACL.  The check (payment in full) was received less than 2 weeks later.

My wife and I look forward to cruising again with ACL when our schedule allows.
