The Bahamas falls under "The Caribbean".

Someone pointed out they did not explicitly mention Australia - that is probably the only remaining operations.  Unless that falls under "South Pacific".

For what it’s worth, the Bahamas are not part of the Caribbean geographically.

Concur.

Bermuda probably gets lumped in there too, at times.

And I have to correct myself: Australia is explicitly mentioned (or they just added it), with a different timeline:

"All cruises sailing in and out of Australia on Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Sea Princess, and Sun Princess through October 31, 2020"

But too many CC members believed his promise many years back to "ask the hard questions of the beards."

He certainly does NOT do that. But that's their fault, not his. Carnival's rep for secretiveness, stringing customers along, not admitting bad news til the last possible moment, overhyping good news while spinning the bad stuff ... all of that starts with Donald, Duffy and their team.

I do believe that he is an honest man and DOES ask those questions.  The issue being the "beards" do not give him answers or the answers they do provide are obsfucated, less than half the story or run through spin doctors first.

Nope, they didn't.  I would rather they had, so that I could avoid the complication of the final payment for a cruise that will be cancelled.

We had a final payment due on Sunday for an October 25th cruise on the Pride.  I can't see this cruise actually happening.  I went ahead and called Carnival and was able to move our deposit to a similar cruise in Oct 2021.  No way was I going to pay the final payment and have that much money tied up in a cruise I do not think will happen.

This is due to removing the fantasy class ships and moving some other ships around, thus causing specific cancellations (also includes the previous delays IE mardi gras and radiance due to delays in shipyard)

Yup.

What we all want to know, of course, is whether the other shoe will drop tomorrow (or "soon") and all (remaining) cruises through 30 Nov or 15 Dec get cancelled.

Yeah I  feel they will  cancel rest of cruises through at least December 15th by mid  August......  They will follow Princess.  I don't like how John Heald keeps on going on how "Carnival Cruises will resume on Oct 1st" but Christine Duffy says totally different like "when we returns to service" and she does not mention a date.  We should have good vibes, but we need to be  realistic at same time

What’s wrong with the October 2nd date? Carnival has not extended their suspension of operations beyond that date and the brand ambassador remains confident including statements as recently as today. Christine Duffy has not suggested a longer waiting period as the phrase you described, “when we return to service,” can suggest the same thing.

Whats wrong is the virus is exploding all over the country.  It will be peaking around the time JH claims they are going to restart, but they are really just keeping up the charade because people that cruise Princess aren't going to keep sending in free loans, but the Carnival cruisers haven't quite figured it out that they might be betting there money on a sinking ship.

Princess passengers aren’t rebooking as they still have barely processed any refunds from March. Carnival passengers keep rebooking because they have faith in a cruise line that looks forward to bringing the fun back to you in October.

They aren’t being deceitful and cannot wait to resume operations in October.

There are a lot of  us who have received refunds from Princess. We cancelled a cruise that would be leaving this weekend back in early April. We received our refund about a week short of 3 months.

While owned by the same corporation, what Princess decides to do with 4 ships and Carnival with 20 (or thereabouts) is totally apples and oranges.  John Heald is doing his job, the same way he did it yesterday, last week, and last year.  Obviously (at least it was to me reading it) what Christine Duffy says when we return to refers to......when they return.  Carnival’s plan is as soon as they can and right now....drum roll, it is October 1st.  Is the final decision to do that in their hands?  No.  Does that mean they should not say that?  No.
