Blue Chip Casino Club - Official Extension Notice

Maybe others have noticed, but I see they now have a statement on their website:

Please note that the earning period has been extended an additional 6 months, through December 31, 2021.

Some people have received email notices with this information but many never have (myself included) so good to see something like this.  I wish it was clear that it applied to both earning AND current status, I want to assume it does but one never knows.  I have sent the question to them to inquire on this.

The statement is here Blue Chip Casino Club in the last line under Welcome to the Club for those interested to see for themselves.

I'd received an email notification prior, but today I received another one. It also said that they are reinstating me to Amethyst status even though I haven't cruised with Celebrity since 2017.  The email contained a complimentary Veranda offer for select cruises.  That is the fourth complimentary cruise offer I've received from Blue Chip in the last 2 months and so I've booked a B2B2B (21 days) to Bermuda in June. Again, not bad for not having cruised with them for over 3 years. I am loving Blue Chip these days!

Wow ... I'd be loving them too, good for you!.  I suppose they are focusing solely on passenger residency right now (makes sense) and not extending anything outside the US (assume you are in US) as I get nothing now and they don't even respond to email or questions submitted from the form on their site.

Oh well, is what it is I guess and there are certainly bigger things to think about.   😞

I had gotten an email several months ago stating that my Sapphire status, which expired in December dropping me to Amethyst, had been reinstated through the end of 2020, probably to encourage me to make a 2020 booking. With all 2020 cruises likely to be cancelled that extension will be effectively useless. I was on the phone with a Blue Chip rep a few weeks ago but she had no record of my status being changed so it likely would only show up if I actually booked a cruise in 2020. I asked her if they might extend the Sapphire status further into 2021. She didn't know but since I already have a 2021 cruise on the books I'm going to guess that they will not extend it any further.

I suppose that due to the fact that primarily all the cruises for 2020 are cancelled, no one will be able to save their status. And the more likely scenario that I can see is that everyone's status will be reset or frozen. Hope for the best guys

Received a similar email yesterday. Not sure how i was ever Amethyst, but I am again. Booked a comped Apex cruise for late February. Hopefully we will be crusing again before then.

Oh no!  Yes, I'm in the US and that hasn't been my experience at all.  Hopefully these cruises will actually happen!  I'm sure they will be expanding offers soon - they need us all!

Another great Blue Chip offer received today!  Offer is for a Veranda cabin on the following sailings:

Nice ...!

Sad not to be getting ANYTHING anymore but more sad is the uncertainty of these sailings.

Don't ask me what I did to get so popular with Blue Chip all of a sudden, but today for the first time ever I got a comp offer via text message. Veranda cabin on the Edge for New Years Eve.  I might have considered it if I was in Florida, but I don't want to fly.

I wonder now if they will further extend the December 31, 2021 expiry date given things keep getting pushed out (and rightfully so).

Small thing to be thinking about with everything going on right now but thinking about cruising gives my mind a bit of a diversion as well as happy thoughts beyond the current state of things.

Seems likely since the earliest cruising will probably start again at this point is the fall of this year.

We just received an email for comped selected Fall 2021 bookings on the Edge which must be requested by March 10th. We sent in our choices via the included link.

Do we know whether the current Blue Chip bookings are Always Included?

We booked September 18 and were told that all included is not included with the comped room.  I suggest just calling Blue Chip and booking.  The last few times that I have called them i got through immediately.

Wow talk about fast service. I used the online reservation form that was included in the Blue Chip email and within an hour they called back but I missed the call. They had promptly booked my first choice which was the Edge October 30th Western Caribbean. I called back to finalise the booking and yes, Always Included IS NOT part of Blue Chip complementary cruises.

Now we will see whether this cruise will actually sail. TBH I would predict an 80-85% chance that the sailing will commence WITH restrictions.

Can confirm that with comped cabin through BCC no all included but have researched whether they are going to still do evening cocktail hour(s)

. On some pages it still shows but on there it does not. We will find out on June 5th. Nevertheless I have found that if you tip generously in the casino alcohol is not a problem as you all already know.

The posting regarding earning tier points now says 8 points for $1 wagered on table play.  Is this new?  Is this a mistake?

I would think it's a mistake but I'm sailing on Silhouette this Saturday 17th July so I'll find out and report back.
