FCC and deposit

I apologize for this as I know this has been asked and answered before.  

 

Can you use the FCC to pay for the deposit when booking the cruise?

Not in my experience. I've done two new bookings to use up the FCC, and I needed to do the deposit separately for each. Your experience may vary.

I thought I read with the last pause4?, now if you book a future cruise using FCC from a previously cancelled cruise , you will NOT be required to also used a banked FCD or $ for a deposit. A few weeks ago when I made January 2021 bookings and had enough FCC's to cover the entire cruise fare, I was still required to make a 'deposit' which essentially reduced owed Govt taxes and fees, I did not have any FCD's left in my account.
