When we can cruise again, which line will you go on?

I am dreaming about our next cruise! We canceled one we had scheduled for March because it was leaving from Rio and partly on the Amazon, and I have no faith that things will be cooled down enough for cruising (especially there) by March.

Now I am looking at anytime January-August, 2022. But which line? We really wanted to do Oceania again, but the Riviera and Marina (their bigger ships) aren't going anywhere we want to be so far -- they haven't posted clear into the summer, 2022.

So what is your favorite line, and why? We are looking for luxury; I was looking at Celebrity ships and "The Retreat" which is some kind of all-suite deal on some ships? But one thing also we liked about Oceania was that it was all adults, and a lot of them were old folks like us.

Tell me your favorites and why and about the age of the clientele?

Then we can all dream together!

Thanks!

Jax

you are right about Celebrity.
it's a really classy experience with all four parks included, although now the prices have gone up quite a bit.

The Yacht club on MSC is also excellent for luxury and service at a great price, much less than Oceania

If I were to cruise again it would be with Celebrity or RCI out of NJ.

Or HAL out of Boston. These are my 3 favorite cruise lines.

Usually I pick date/ports and then look at who sails it.   Since I've yet to do RCCL intrigued by them, then Princess, the others are in play if they have the right ports/dates and reasonable price.

Maybe someday I'll try those premium smaller ships, LOL

We have a 7 day Celebrity Apex midship balcony booked for Dec 2021 on a casino fare of taxes and port charges.

I am not hopeful that a Carnival Magic booked for mid November will sail.  We have a 14 day Buenos Aires to Santiago, Chile booked for this spring on NCL that may also get cancelled.

3 booked cruises on 3 different lines.

I'm booked on the Carnival Magic for January and Carnival's newest ship Mardi Gras for April 2021.  We shall see.  I will reach platinum on my next Carnival cruise, but it keeps eluding me with two cancellations so far.  I can wait.  Someday, it will happen even if it's not the first quarter of next year.  I will just keep hanging in there.

If you enjoyed Oceania, I'd recommend checking out Viking.  It has a lot going for it, including no kids under 18, no casino, beautiful newer ships, and a seriously good enrichment program based on whatever itinerary you're sailing.  There's a fabulous spa that's open to everyone at no charge.  Two specialty restaurants that have no up-charge.  In fact, almost everything is included in the fare.  Demographics we've experienced skew a little older....I'd guess the majority fall in the range of later 50s to early 70s.   Having sailed a number of different lines over the years, including Oceania, Viking has been our preferred cruise line for the past 3 years.

Hmmm... Oceania (Marina or Riviera - cabins 7130 or 7135 - best wrap around balconies) , Regent, Crystal, or Windstar (even though no balcony).  I'd consider Celebrity Apex - even though haven't done it.

Viking?  I don't know if we would like a river cruise, and we aren't sure of their ocean cruises.

Either way - we want it to be awesome!!!!

Also - Cormorant Cruise in Galapagos on a luxury Catamaran cruise carrying only 9 rooms!

Also - some great Antartica cruise!

We're booked on Celebrity Reflection for July 2021 British Isles. I got an amazing deal quite a long time ago on a true aft sky suite (retreat category). So glad I booked when I did, as the price point now $$$$'s !!!. I actually also just booked an amazing hotel pre-cruise in Amsterdam...So excited for this cruise.

Our opinion, too!  We did four international cruises with Viking between June 2019 and March 2020.  The service was stellar each time.  We're looking forward to cruising again with Mother V.

I wouldn't buy your air tickets just yet! I would be amazed if this cruise goes ahead!

Of course I wouldn't buy airline tickets right now...they aren't even open yet.

Our active roll call is very optimistic about this sailing and the reason I booked my hotel, is

it also is booking up quickly.

Wow y'all! Thanks for all the recommendations. I am going to go through and investigate them all as I have time. We have cruised on Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival before, but that was always with grandma and the kids, and when we went as an old couple on Oceania, we kind of fell in love with the more mature atmosphere and the enrichment activities as opposed to rock climbing or surfing on board.

Thanks Silver 91 for the video! It's always great to see a real video of the cabin. What an insane series that is!
