If this was the evening where a small orchestra and vocal soloists performed a dramatic piece by a local composer while an appropriately violent thunderstorm raged, memorable it was.  Captain Jose had the buses pulled right up to the tent to keep us dry for the ride home.

Yes this is exactly the event. The composer had created that piece exclusively for Azamara, the setting was fantastic and the music great. The thunderstorm was memorable.

I remember the cruise director Russ referring to this evening some years after,  as one of the worst azamazing evenings, but I had enjoyed it and so did my friends.

Although exhausted from a full day excursion of Kochi and the Kerala backwaters, we had a wonderful time at the Azamazing evening that took place at one of the local hotels in 2015...decorated elephants, drummers, singers, dancers and the local martial arts, all capped off by fireworks. Food and drink flowed, and there were all sorts of little stalls.

We were on this Azamazing night too; after a wonderful day on the Kerala backwaters, observing life on the waterfront and the friendliness of locals passing us by on water ferries - a great day. Then we had the Azamazing night; the highlight for us being the palm readers. DW and I were both delighted to separately discover that we shouldn’t worry as we’ll both live well to our 90s and have a wonderful life. Cheered us up no end - thanks Azamara!

Remember when gifts were given after the Azamazing Evening?  Here's the one from  Journey in December 2013.20200827_131317.thumb.jpg.cb1a1d214486e7bd3f8b38a83aaf417e.jpg

A special gift indeed, helby!

We each received a beautiful, Balinese textile with bright, saffron sash after attending Bali's Azamazing Evening in March, 2018.  The event was extraordinary.  There were the usual sips and nibbles, and we were greeted by a score of costumed celebrants.  There were masks,  music and dance, beautiful women, fearsome men, and a jaw-dropping fire dance.  Back at the ship, the gifts awaited in our perfectly made-up suite.  Sigh.  Someday...
