Lowie Posted August 8, 2020 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2020 Does anyone know what happens if a cruise is cancelled and it was chartered by a private group? The charter company is only offering to transfer to another year, but won't say what they'll do it RC cancels.

Royals policies regarding cancellations do not apply to charters

You need to read and understand the agreement that you signed with them.

There's nothing in it about the possibility of a pandemic, the cruise line cancelling the cruise, only that if the charter cancels the reservation they'll refund it 100%. It doesn't say that they can force us into transferring to another year.
Rare 1025cruise Posted August 9, 2020 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2020 Unfortunately, its up to the charter company. Period. There is already news out there about one charter that has said no refunds, just a reschedule for next year.
Milwaukee Eight Posted August 9, 2020 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2020 There was a Charter, High Seas Rally , scheduled for December this year on Brilliance. We have been on this Charter a few times but didn’t book for this year as it was the same ship, same itinerary, 3 years in a row. It was cancelled/moved to October 2021 to Mariner. We decided to book the new cruise. A lot of people on the 2020 cruise can’t make or now choose to book the rescheduled cruise. Final payments for the Charter are/were due well before 90 days. Their Charter, their rules. Some not happy with refund policy for the cancelled cruise. I think it’s like going to be given out in 3 or 4 scheduled refunds. Refunds in installments. Again, their Charter, their rules. M8
