mame42 Posted August 10, 2020 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2020 Given the popularity of Lanai cabins and the Covid-19 emphasis on fresh air and access to the exterior in case of outbreaks or quarantines, what are the possibilities of the Zaandam receiving Lanais during her spring drydock? RBB Posted August 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2020 Seems to me if that was in the works they would be selling lanais on the 2021 Grand Africa and Grand World. And they aren't. Rick

Rare foodsvcmgr Posted August 10, 2020 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2020 With uncertainty about just how long she will remain part of the HAL fleet, seems unlikely that they would put major investment in this type of rebuild.
KirkNC Posted August 10, 2020 #7 Share Posted August 10, 2020 I hope not as the lanai cabins screw up seating on the promenade. 2

There has been many unhappy guests on long cruises aboard the ships that had those cabins built. Probably wise if HAL chose to learn their lesson from this "experiment". I'd be real surprised if any CapEx money would be spent on any non-mandatory changes to any ship. Its cash conversation time for all the cruise lines until they can get their revenue streams flowing again.

KirkNC Posted August 11, 2020 #12 Share Posted August 11, 2020 Plus on the fresh air, opening the outside door screws up the AC for multiple cabins on the same grid.
