Viking River Cruises 2020 Bookings

Just went on Viking Web site and all 2020 cruises are gone.  Also went to my Nov. 22, 2020 Romantic Danube and cannot access my booking.  It looks like a major announcement from Viking is coming today.  2020 has been a travel waste for us.  I sure hope 2021 is better!!!

I think the travel industry has taken a bigger hit this year than in 2001/2002 after 9/11.  I'm so glad I did a Panama Canal cruise in early February, because it's been downhill from there.

Our Nov 202O Elegant Elbe cruise was taken off our “My Trips” section of their website. Now I guess that it will be a matter of when we will officially be noticed by Viking River Cruises.

Just got the e-mail and vouchers from Viking cancelling our Nov. 2020 Romantic Danube cruise.

The $64,000 question: Will Fall 2021 be enough time for the world to sort this all out?

Just got my email With voucher from Viking that my Normandy Oct Cruise is canceled. Called my TA and I am rescheduled for August 2021. This is my second for the year. Viking has handled the situation  admirably.

Just got the expected e-mail from Viking - they are canceling all cruises through December 31.

Sorry for all of those who are not going to be able to cruise, but I expect the other lines to join suit as well.

 

One nice thing I see with Viking is the FCC (+125%) is transferable to anyone...so if you are at the age where you no longer feel up to the trip, you can "gift" it to someone rather than waiting for the two years to get a cash back.  Nice touch.
