I called today and wanted to move our March cruise to January of 2022 and Norwegian would not only not give us the same perks but wanted to charge me more.  You would have thought they would be doing everything in their power to keep loyal customers but rather it seems they are doing the opposite.

i just things will not be back to normal next March and wanted to have price of mind.  Not sure what they are thinking but it does not seem like they understand we are in a pandemic.

what do other think

I think NCL will now do whatever it takes to increase revenue...at the expense of loyalty.

I did a comparison between Carnival and NCL and NCL was much higher for an Inside room versus a balcony with Carnival.  I have always wanted to try NCL but it doesn't make sense at these prices

this "other" thinks I would cancel that March cruise and go with another cruise line.  That would piss me off to no end

I'm afraid NCL has, as far as I know, never matched promos nor prices.  Considering the time difference, it doesn't surprise me at all that the prices are higher.

With the amount of money NCL/cruise lines in general have lost, they'll need to increase prices any way they can in order to survive until 2022.  JMO

We went ahead and booked a re-do in 2021 of our Sept 8th cruise that was cancelled. Price was similar when we researched but when we booked they took off the 20% and we actually have a whole bunch of money leftover with our FCCs.

I guess it depends on when you're looking. I booked a Fall 2022 Mediterranean cruise several months back using the 20% discount that came with my cancelled cruise. The mock booking I just did prices out the cruise only portion for the same amount.

NCL's activities do not support the consumer.

May I suggest not doing a cruise, but a higher end escorted land tour for a change!

Last June we took a Globus tour of Austria and Switzerland - including the mighty train the "Glacier Express" up to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn. The experience was 10/10 and the landscapes, hotels, eating real food in real regional restaurants simply blew a cruise out of the water.

We took a train to Paris and stayed a few days, then flew to Hamburg and took the QM2 to Southampton then NYC.

The cost of this entire trip was well less than 10 days on a Oceania cruise and the experience was far beyond anything on any cruise of my life.

While cruises are nice, this virus has helped many of us to move past cruising and start to consider other ways to see the world.

At this time they don't need to reduce prices. There is a large amount of FCC out there that needs to be used or it will be lost. That is money that they have already collected and spent. In theory you could have a large % of passengers on future sailings without much new income coming into the company. And this just increases the longer they need to cancel cruises - although I think more will take the refund if it's available than did last March/April. Add to that the extra cost that they will have with the covid preparations and not knowing when they will actually get ships going again and they are in a hard spot. If they can get bookings at the higher rate they will take the cash. They always have the option of reducing rates if they need to fill capacity when things start again.

I was one of those who took FCC from a canceled March cruise. I rebooked during the extra 20% off sale last April for January 2021. I felt that the price/deal I got at that time was quite reasonable and have been checking and have seen nothing comparable since. I was able to book the same basic itinerary with a few extra perks - including onboard credit for my FCC - keep in mind this was 125% FCC and the 20% off to get the same basic product so not really a comparable deal. At this point it's doubtful it will sail, but if it cancels I would not have the option of a refund since it was booked with FCC so the FCC just keeps adding up.
