We lose enough to earn free cruises.  When calculating our casino losses against the cruse fare, we come out about even in the long run.   "I always pay for my free cruise!"

I can't begin to tell you how many $100.00 "free" Bud Lights I have had at the Blackjack tables.  While I'm waiting for my "Free" beer I invariably have to buy in for another $100.00 while I wait.

I have had some amazing ups and downs in Carnival and Princess casinos.  Have hit a royal flush and several 4 deuces playing VP.  Walking off a ship in Rio with 8K in my pocket is something I never want to do again. Best high was Royal Flush at Heads Up Hold ‘em.  $14,175 pay out.  I have paid my entire ship’s bill off in cash more than once. My bankroll is in the $500 a day range so with any luck (ha ha) I do okay.  Worst loss was around $7K on a Trans-Atlantic where I never got ahead. My husband takes it all in stride (he doesn’t gamble) and knows I am responsible.

The free cruises and casino discounted fares are great. And I am typing this on the I-pad I won on an Ultra cruise.  I don’t smoke, I don’t drink (to excess), I don’t fool around and I am a total nerd about accounting.  If there is a great Accountant in the Sky, she will find me about even when all is said and done. And I have fun!

My dear friends, Casino never loses - NEVER. Even if  it seems like that it is losing money right now, simultenuesly it gets all the money lost back from other players and stuff. Casino never loses. lol it reminded me of Casino movie with DeNiro

Hit 2 royal flushes ($1K each) playing video poker during the same 7 day cruise and on another cruise, won their slot tournament. Other than that, on nearly every other cruise, the Gaming Gods got their revenge.
Compared to land casinos, video poker pay tables on cruise ships are unplayable. With that understanding, budgeting one's cruise casino money is vital. If cruise casino activity makes the week pleasurable, go for it.

Absolutely correct, if they lost they wouldn’t be in business.  I laugh at the people who say they’re getting a free cruise, guess what it ain’t free.

I budget for it, so it's no different than a shore excursion or other planned entertainment on any cruise... "free" or otherwise.

But then you won’t be getting anymore free cruises.

Agreed !

so you have to figure out what is the minimum amount you need to play,  in order to keep on getting free Cruises

My biggest win on a penny slot, playing max bet I think of $3 was $2500.     The following cruise (did a b2b) my DH hit the same machine for about $2000.

We both walked from the casino and didn't give it back.     That's the trick!    Walk while ahead.    On average we gamble about $100 each per night in the casino.   Of course the casino is always ahead but we have lots of fun and enjoy our free drinks and our free cruises (so called free cruises).    Right now we have 8 free cruises booked for OV Balconies and have 5 free offers plus our annual tier cruises to book.    I think we do all right.

I decided to start a spreadsheet as soon as cruises starts back up just to see where we are with the costs of free cruises vs. how much we gamble and win.

That would be very interesting to read and I am really looking forward to seeing that spreadsheet
