The Holland America fifth Vista class ship that was transfered to them. Yep, that's Arcadia. She was also to become QV, but Cunard went for a model with a stronger hull for trans-At purposes. I have never been to the Mexican Riviera but I know I’ve seen this before. Bermuda, of course. I've seen that pink house on the hill hundreds of times. 🤠

To be honest, I've probably seen that painting on board, but can't recall when/where. But I sailed into Hamilton numerous times on other ships, and that house has always been there. 😎

For valuable extra points, what was her name when she was a HAL ship? Nice perspective. I always admired the "N ships", and seeing this makes me sentimental. We loved that ship, even with its kinks (the walk-around balcony went through the Lido outside dining, if you wanted to go fore or aft when then show crew was practicing you had to go up or down so as not to disturb them, plus it was in the Piet Hein bar in 1996 where I first met Mama Lou,) Dave

Very comfortable, and a smooth ride (weather permitting LOL). Nieuw Amsterdam was my very first trip with HAL, and so began the love affair with that line. Rare Copper10-8 Posted September 27, 2020 #789 Share Posted September 27, 2020 This is Captain Card's painting of the Veendam IV which just left HAL. Bit of a different style than the "pink house" Veendam pic
